Why would they ask Yarran to pick him up?

Weird.
They wanted someone who's extracted them self from that vile club to perhaps help the bloke.

I guess it's OK when the "altercation" is with a man.

I would be guessing that he thought if he got someone no longer playing with Carlton he may be able to sweep it under the rug. Also don't assume that just because Yarren no longer plays for Carlton that he has to abandon any of his friends he made there. It happens a lot with many players who move clubs. It's like how many people still have friends at their previous work place.

Missed my point. I fully support what Yarran did. My point is why does society get so outraged when a woman is threatened or assaulted so much more than a man? Is my life less valuable?

It's certainly not less valuable, but you are probably in a better position as a male to defend yourself against another male than what a woman would be.

Makes sense. I wasn't implying that Yaz couldn't have friends from Carlton, just the way it was written sounded strange. (In the article that is).

Oh behalf of the Carlton board, we are touched by your obvious care and concern for Smith and starting a thread to show your support. :thumbsu::D

Clearly he deserves a 12 month ban.

Thats not true, i'd say a lot of females would be faster stronger and more able to defend themselves against male then myself. I agree with sumtingwong, assault is assault regardless of gender. Chris Yarran seems like a top bloke though, hopefully acts like this mean he's maturing and ready to get on with the job

C7 reporting that this dude was at Mr Miyagis just before the altercation..;)

Wouldn't surprise me, had a 10 course meal I hear. Just look at the size of him.

Gotta get the bulk back on after shredding for Stereos, bro.

Hopefully a video will emerge of a shirtless Clem and Martin equipped with bum bags doing the stereo shuffle...

So a chick throws punches and her club make her apologize???
Double standards.
