I am ****ting myself about the prospect of my end of schooling coming up.

I'm ****ting myself even more because in a month year 12 exams begin and I just don't want to do them.

Who else is in year 12 and how do you feel about the prospect of the major upsoming events?

I did them last year and all I thought was, I'll study like hell beforehand (which I sorta ... did).
Just think though, you've got exams, then you've got leavers (schoolies) week.
It'll be the best week of your life hey.

Im taking it pretty seriously but if I dont get a high enough ENTER for my preferred courses then I will join the RAAF, so it wont be the end of the world.

I hear you brother!!!

Just think, only just over 1 month to go till the end of school. Put every bit of effort in now, for 1 month, so when you finish, you know you have done your best, no matter what mark you get.

Just think, in 1 months time you can do what ever the hell you want!

Year 12 sux bigtime.

I cant wait til it's finished but then I fear I will miss school (did I just say that?) I know I will miss some friends as you always lose touch.

I just hope I get into something I want to and thats the thing that scares me, i'm applying for all sorts of stuff aswell as university courses as to leave my options opened but I wanan go to uni and the chance of missing that boat scares the **** outta me

Yeah I guess i'll miss school a bit, and i feel it is a bit strange that the time has come that i've been waiting for for at least 10 years, and now i don't want to finish, i know how you feel. And I am also **** scared of missing out on uni, but i'm just going to do the best i can, and see where that gets me. If that doesn't get me somewhere, nothing else will!

Good luck to you

Don't stress so much. There is usually more than one boat going to the same destination. The next one might take a small detour, but nothing to worry yourself silly about.

Good luck to everyone on the exams!!!!!

I just cant get motivated to study and that stuffs you up, I know I should study and everything but it's so hard to get started and continue. I want to but I just cant, too many distractions

I've had that same problem, but last Monday I said to myself "Look, I'm going to put in until November 14th, then i can let it all out." And I had the most rewarding week of my life this week.

Just think of the Huge schoolies week afterwards.

And don't worry, once you finish year 12, first year uni is one long holiday anyway.

I find methods easy, it's specialist that kills me. And physics, to a lesser degree. English and Bio are easy enough though.

BC - don't worry too much. I did Legal in year 11, and while I hated it, I did ok. I'm sure you will too, if youre good enough to be advancing, thats for a reason.:)

I did Year 12 last year and found it to be an absolute killer, in terms of staying focussed and being committed to doing all the work that had to be done. Still, I got through it ok, got into the course I wanted and now finding Uni an absolute breeze compared to Year 12. It's the hardest 9 months of your school life, but then doing what you want next year and beyond makes up for it :)

I'm in year 11, but I'm doing 1 year 12 subject - maths.

I'm absolutely sh1tting myself over it. I've done heaps of work throughout the year, and even in the hols - like a couple of hours a day every day, but I'm still worried I will go really bad. And if I do go bad, I think I will cry!

How's the other Vic's going in methods?

i'm doing VCE this year and i have been stressing like you wouldn't believe over this whole exams stuff coming up - but at the moment i'm also really, really excited that i've only got 3 weeks of school left!!! then just gotta survive my exams and i'm free!!!

bluecrow, i'm doing methods this year, but i'm really not as stong in maths as i am in other subjects. haven't started studying for it properly yet, though i really need to :(
don't stress yourself out too much about it - with the work you've done you'll be fine with it, just keep it up :)
try not to let it get to you, easier said than done, i know, but you'll do great, i'm sure :)

so yeah, very very stressed, but excited too!

good luck all

well i did yr 12 last year and my advice is don't take it too seriously because u only start learning once u get out in the real world and u will see how lame school really was...just make sure ya get that damm bit of paper but ;)

yeah i did that as well BUT i didnt do to well in my exams and as a result am in a craphole of a course at uni. anyhoo....make sure from now until exams if u need help GET IT!!! go to teachers. ask questions, double check if u have to, but most of all get it clear in your head. but yeah they always make it seem worse than it really is. :)

i did year 12 in 99
i must say it was the best year of my life
i guess i was lucky that i had a great group of friends, who are still my best mates, and we did everything together
my best mate lived litterally 15 metres away from school, so we would spend, recess, lunchtime, english, maths, at his house
it was the best

i got a good enter, in the 70's
but i didnt work too hard, i just enjoyed the whole year

for schoolies, i went to ocean grove on the vic surf coast, it wasnt packed so it was relaxed, but there were enough people around to have a lot of fun ;)
we stayed for 5 nights, for 12 hours sleep and a lot of alcohol

work hard over the next 4 weeks, and make sure you set yourself certain goals

but make sure you go on schoolies, and enjoy the time after year 12
its probably the last chance you get to act like a kid before you have to grow up

Yeah I got my TEE in just less than a month. The prospect of TEE Calculas and English Literature is absolutely ****ting me!

I don't have any empathy with those currently studying for year 12 exams.

Why?

I was "subjected" to the "rigours" of the ACT regime, in which an "exam" examines only in the most limited sense of the word.

Oh for the joys of continual assessment, where you can do essays the night before there due and still get 95%, and you don't have to worry about annoying external examinations like CAT's. Further, the scores were calculated in such a manner, that you were "allowed" one bad semester and it's impact would be minimal.

Stress???

Never!!

Good Luck!

Im pretty laid back about it all it doesnt worry me that much how i go.Ill probably just study the night before or if i cant be bothered ill do it during the day before.:o

I hear ya CommisionerX!!
We certainly have it easy dont we??
But unfortunately some of us still dont live up to expectations!!
