For god’s sake. There was so much great stuff at the Olympics; the Fox sisters, Jess Hull, Nina Kennedy, the swimming team - we have the most gold medals we have ever won yet people keep crapping on about Raygun. FMD

I enjoyed the per capita Olympics. The antipodes accumulated 28 gold medals which is a pretty amazing stat on the world stage. The 2 primary contributors to the antipodean haul were Australia with 18 golds and Aotearoa with 10. This is punching above one's weight on an epic scale, 4th and 11th respectively. I haven't bothered to work out who the clear winner was between the 2 primary contributors to the antipodean haul

Of the golds achieved by both....the gals did well.

NZ is the one that I know ... well. It's my preference to use the indigenous names where indigenous peoples are still in existence.

There are multiple, depending on the region of Aus you're in.

I think it would be a shame to lose those indigenous references. Language is a big part of subjugation. I prefer amalgamation to subjugation. You bring what you bring and I bring what I bring and we work it out. I have no problem recognising a language that is different to my own and the cultural aspects contained within it. Ultimately, you're here and I'm here and we'll bring different things to it.

By and large, I think the people of Aotearoa get that.
