I don't like getting a head of myself, no Richmond supporter really does, one week at a time is the best way to deal with it.

The AFL & the media have been talking up the support for Collingwood and how much Black & White their was at the MCG over the 2 Grand Finals.

You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet...

Wait a few years till the mighty Tigers are up and about, we'll make a Collingwood crowd look like a North Melbourne home game.

I'm with ya
I don't get any tiger supporter who doesn't care about big crowds of tiger supporters. What fool wouldn't want 50,000 at the G every week. :thumbsu:

Before we get to the what if scenarios; how about we start winning games of football and make the finals.

The crowds will come but we have to earn respect of the football world first.

More importantly supporters we've lost along the way. The basis for my post was more or less the perception that we're a sleeping giant in terms of support and hence Benny Gales ambitious goal of 75,000 members.

If we made the finals next year we'd average about 48,000 over 22 games. The Cairns/Darwin? games will hold the crowds down a bit. That's a start. We know that we will need more than 1 finals appearance to persuade more to come though. We'll average 55,000 per game under 2 consecutive finals appearances. That will get the IDGAF's out of bed with the bra and all

We did prove in the last game against Port that our club does have a strong supporter base. 40k at Etihad against an interstate club is pretty impressive.

When I shank a kick in the middle of the road and comment to passer's by that I'm trying out for Richmond and they stop replying "You're in first pick mate" then we can have this discussion.

Some posters have taken it as being in the short term, I was referring to long term. We're going to have success, it's only a matter of time, the gears are in motion so to speak... When that comes, the AFL and Footy fans will bare witness to something never experienced before.
