Went and watch these guys play in Brisbane the other night and they rocked. I was wondering where people thought they stood in relation to great Australian Bands? I would put them in my top 5 without a doubt. Every band needs a reckless drunk of a lead singer to add some grunt to their outfit and Tim Rogers does it better than anyone.

They are a great band, I love their songs. Unfortunately I've only seen them live once, which was at the Tassie Falls Festival last year, when Tim Rogers went a bit hard in the pre gig drinking and could hardly stand up.
They played a couple of songs pretty badly and left, but I think that adds to their character a bit.

In terms of Australian songwriting, one of the greats. Three truly great records: Hi Fi Way, Hourly, Daily, #4 Record. The last two You Am I records have been a bit patchy, but his work with the TU is solid.

I remember the "try hard" label being used a few years ago - back when grunge was still lingering and a frontman who wasn't big on self loathing and tried to entertain a crowd was a show-boater. Seems Tim and his rock star moves were a few years ahead of the curve. Now old-fashioned RAWK (with an occasionally ironic note) is back, and it seems You Am I were just too good, too early.

I've seen them live about six times, and they've never been anything less than fantastic.

Tim Rogers` biggest fan has always been Tim Rogers ....

I reckon Sound as Ever was a fricken great album ( how good is the film clip to Berlin chair ) .... but when they released Hourly Daily TR spruked in all his promo interviews that S A E was carp and just a pile of noise .....

Get off your high horse Rogers you knob . The man constantly acts as if he is some form of higher intelligence when it comes to all things music .

Back in the day that album was very highly rated so he was essentially saying "your all heathens for liking that album we are much better know ..."

I beg to differ .

He could do himself a favour and just shut his pretentious mouth up for mine . His brilliance has really translated into genuine success hasn`t it

Who cares what he thinks of missy higgins ?. Just coz she has already sold more albums than he has .

Who said Ego is not a dirty word ?

He's like the lovechild of Brett Michaels and Mick Jagger, except they're not drumks and they can sing better.

If i ever get the chance,I'll smack him in the face.
