Surprised not one Carlton supporter has returned to comment on my thread in the Essendon board.
So many of you offered very insightful and damning assesments of the Essendon team and enlightened many of us as to how superior and what a great talent the Carlton team is.
I thought the same people would be very keen to come back and give their expert analysis from the game but up till now not one of you has offered your thoughts. It would be great if you could all come back and say hi at some stage. I especially miss ensightful comments such as these:
1. you list our dud players so ill do the same:
Stanton (cant handle a tag), nash, jetta, laycock, ryder (overrated), Reimers, NLM, Welsh, Atkinson, mcphee, monfries , watson and worst of all slattery
2. Murphy > than your midfield

3. Ryder is an absolute spud. If Ryder > our backline, how come we can hold teams to under 100 points constantly?
4. Means nothing now my friend. We've done the suffering, we've done the reaping of the rewards, now we'll leave the left overs for you, preferably during the draft lock out.
The dark days are over at Princes Park, they're only just beginning at Windy Hill.

5. This game comes down to whether Carlton come to the game switched on or not. IMHO (and yes it is biased) Carlton have the better cattle on the paddock, if we turn up ready to play we will win, any overconfidence or just not ready mentally and the Dons will get the win.
Either the Dons by 15 or Carlton by 60.

8. This Carlton side is years ahead of Essendon. talent wise, light years ahead.
I am expecting an 8 goal plus shallacking. Forget round three. It is the nine games since that have seen the men separate from the boys. Fletcher, Lucas, Lloyd and McPhee. An unhealthy reliance on top end aged players. Lucas however is an absolute gem. He still looks under done. I would hate to see him get injured again.
9. Reimers, Myers, Lonergan. Average at best. Mcveigh is a gun.
Rhetoric? Nothing rhetoric here....
Murphy, Gibbs, Simpson, Kreuzer, Armfield, Grigg, Browne.
Waite, Fevola, Stevens, Judd.
You will not hold them. The margin will be 8 goals plus.
10. How many Essendon players would get a game in our side?
I would say Ryder, McVeigh and possibly a fit Lucas.
That is it.
