FFS Richmond supporters! We played a bad game of football. Now all i see on our board is lets get rid of this bloke, Frankilin will kick 10 next week, we've had a bad year.
FFS we finished 16th last year. You cant expect us to be a top side the next year. Yes, we played badly when our season was on the line and now, just 2 weeks after we won a great game and praised all of our players, we are getting stuck into everyone that is involved with the club!
Thats all we are known to every other supporter. Eating our own. Im sick of been known as that.
Lift your game Richmond supporters!

**** OFF, we should be top on the ladder, Wallace has had 5 years, Tambling should be brownlow favourite, not Ablett Jnr.

Seriously, LMAO, at least there are some smart fans out there.

I can understand tho. We love our club and it hurts, year in year out when the side gets outplayed like it did today with so much at stake. :(

You can hack a bad performance every now and then.

But at a time when this clubs balls are on the line our team just seem meekly accept an almighty squirrel grip :thumbsd:

it's hard to stomach when it appears that the players are out there going through the motions in a game which could see them make a finals appearance and really stir up their supporters.

They'd wanna come out and show something next week....

I know I know, funny stuff isn't it?
It shits me! That poll that was started by Beaver Fever proves it all. I am optimistic about us been a chance in the next few years. Everyone wants us to win it know.
Have some patience Tiger fans. You dont go from bottom of the ladder to finals contenders within 1 year. Let the young guys get some games under their belt before youn get stuck in.

The thing is though, the loss today is only a short-term problem - our finals hopes for this year are all but gone with that loss. Losing today doesn't take away our improvement this year, or the promise our young players and team as a whole have shown. The way some people act you'd think we have to start another full overturning of the list on the back of one loss.

People can say that it shows this is just another Richmond team that can't win when it counts, but we are a young team. We are going to crack under big pressure games like today. The team today losing this game has nothing to do with the team losing important games 20 years ago - this is a completely different team to in the past, and as it gains experience, we will come out of these games happy much more often.

Concur entirely. But for many the glass is always half empty. However there's plenty of evidence from this years performances that there are brighter times ahead for fans....onward and upwards

We are still a rebuilding side, lots of hope just make mistakes because of the fact we are inexperienced...once our young boys get some beef on them and we get more experience into them it will all be worth it.

What do you expect after watching the side go down without really putting up a fight. Last year we went to AAMI 2 weeks after a 26 goal belting and got done by 9 points while having nothing to play for but pride. It seems that whenever, there is a big game for this club, it cracks, Centenary game ring a bell.
FFS we finished 16th last year. You cant expect us to be a top side the next year.
No-one was expecting up to be a top side, we were however expecting to see a Richmond side put up a fight in a game that was effectively make or break for our season. BTW who says you can't go from bottom 4 to top 8 in a season. North finished 2006 in 14th spot and played in a Prelim final last year and will be top 6 this year. Port went from 12th in 06 to 2nd last year. Pies 15th in 2005, Elim final in 06, Prelim final in 07, Likely top 8 in 08. So don't start with the bullshit lines of you can't expect to be a top side a year after a bottom finish. I, for one wont buy it.

So we're not allowed to criticise after watching such an inept performance. At least some of us are showing a bit more passion than the team did at AAMI today. LIke I said above, it seems we always play badly when there is a big game for this club.

It is not eating our own, it is venting frustration because if we don't we probably end up in an institution. Surely after today even the most optimistic of supporters must be feeling at least a little frustrated after seeing a potential finals spot be pissed up against the wall.

It's a shame that so many people have no patience, and aren't willing to wait for the side to set the foundations for long term success, rather than 1 good season.

This is why we're lucky we have Wallace is charge.

He is a strategist, meticulous planner and a great visionary that is turning the Tiger traing toward the path of long term success, rather that a false dawn of nothing.

Well done to TW for having the fortitude to instill a plan based on delivering a period of sustained success at Richmond :thumbsu:

I stopped after reading this...None of them were last. Give us an example of 16th-8th + in a season.
Bulldogs = last in 03...only callenging now.
We had shit list mangement when we came last last time, so it almost cancelled out the draft picks.
Now we've done it right, you've gotta expect to have shit games. Geelong, anyone?

Rayo they all go mental because they build up the tigers as if we are a good team, and when the team proves they are not (which is quite regularly) they can not deal with it. Much more work needs to go into this side and I firmly believe with a couple of injuries to our senior players we could have easily come bottom 4 this year.

You're spot on Bigrayo, it makes me feel sick reading the spiteful, short-sighted drivel which flows out of the keyboards of some of these clueless w***ers - especially the bottom feeding arseholes who only ever post here after a loss and only ever post to abuse players, the coach and the club.

We've made a lot of progress this season, we're going to be a top-8 side over the next couple of years, but the hate brigade and the flip-flop fools just don't have enough grey matter to see it.

Geelong got thumped by Collingwood of all clubs earlier this year...even the best have days where nothing goes right, everything goes right for the opposition, and just too many players are down on usual output.

That's football, that's sport, and that's life in general.

For well over a decade we've had an appalling record interstate, but this year we began to finally turn that around. Today we let ourselves down, but there's a clear trend of improvement, as there is with most other areas where we've fallen down so often in the past.

Almost all our senior and mid-age players are playing hurt, the kids are tired after a big season of hard, contested football, and for three and a bit quarters today we worked very hard for very little reward. I've been expecting us to fall in a hole at the end of the season because we just don't have the bodies to keep going. Injured mature bodies, outright old men, and kids who have had enough for the year but will come back bigger, faster and stronger.

People are just flat out wrong when they claim we didn't put up a fight today. Most of the 'fighters' in our side - Tuck, Jackson, Thursfield, McGuane, Moore, Pattison - absolutely worked themselves into the ground. The others did as much as they ever do. Some days that hard work just doesn't get the rewards it deserves - especially when you use the ball as abysmally as we did today.

It's heartbreaking to lose a big game like today, I was totally gutted, but it's also foolish to lose sight of the fact that we did much better than expected to get ourselves into the position of challenging for finals.

Even if we get belted in the last three games I'll still be very pleased with our season and looking forward to a much better one next year and the years that follow. We have the right coach, gameplan, and the right players for success. We just need to keep getting pre-seasons and match experience into the kids, keep improving the players we've had for a while (like we did so brilliantly with Moore and White this year), and keep working on the things we're currently getting wrong.

Most of these short-sighted, hysterical little girls who relish the opportunity to squeal and vent after a loss will all be back on board next year when we improve again, and the real haters will just have to find another club to abuse, or post only at finals time after we lose! ;)

**** 'em mate. :thumbsu:

Why is it that anyone with Ray Hall in their nick are such big protectors of the club?
Makes no sense?

Guys,

Enough of the crap. All of you need to sit down and have a think about what you want from a football team.
You also need to learn to distinguish between what happened today as a loss and what happened when we played against the Cats earlier this year.
Today was a disgrace, absolute shit. I saw what was happening 5 minutes into the game just like i did 5 minutes into the Swans game.
That is a really bad sign for a team into its 4th year of development under one coach.
Now I'm not just going to pot the team over today, they have played some really good footy through the year as well.
The year has been okay - a pass mark.
But today was nowhere near what I want to see from our club - nor do I expect that kind of limp wristed, pansy effort from a team that has a chance to play finals.
I'm sick of it.
I'll move on now and look forward to next week and I do have a level of positivity about playing the Hawks but today, shake your head and feel let down because that is what the team did to you (again).

mHill.....Positivity met Reality again today in a game of football.
Just like the Geelong game.
Positivity actually kicks too short, makes bad skill errors, doesn't run hard enough and plays with no passion.
I'd rather play on the side of Reality.

I know deliberate but strange things happen in football and proactive pragmatism is sometimes best left to our monday-friday existence....

Perfectly said bigray :thumbsu: Some of these people are absolutely pathetic.

None if them were last, wtf has that got to do with it. They were still at the arse end of the ladder. You can say we've done it right, but until we actually achieve something of note, no-one knows of thats actually true or not. It is just the opinion of the optimists at the moment.

Sure we're going to have shit games, but the shit games too often happen when there is something on the line. Has been that way for too long.

Just wondering for all you optimists out there, who like to have a go at people who get upset after a loss. Why is it ok for Wallace to feel disappointed in how the side played, but not ok for us 'negative' supporters to feel the same way after a loss?

I think it has something to do with the way our emotions come across in comparison to Wallaces. Ours are raw emotion, without the benefit of having given the players a spray like Wallace, we simply say what our hearts feel. On the other hand, when Wallace fronts the media he has already vented his displeasure and has calmed down which allows him to come across as measured and clear thinking which I think fools some of you into thinking everything is fine. The spray he would have given the side after the game yesterday would have outdone anything that was said on here last night by the posters. Yet because you guys don't hear about it and only read the articles you believe we are in the wrong.

I am not having a go at people venting about our loss, it is more the fact some of the threads made after the game are absolutely ridiculous. Were we silly to recruit Jordy? It is time for Richo to hang up his boots?

Do not get me wrong RT the boys deserved a spray after the horrible effort today, some people just do not think about what they are posting before they post and its absolutely pathetic.

Disappointed posts and time wasting threads full of bullcrap that is so far off the mark that it is ridiculous are two different things in my opinion.
