That was about the most disgraceful exhibition of umpiring I've seen for a long time. Hawthorn supporters should be very angry at the blatantly biased umpiring in the 1st quarter and for most of the rest of the match.

I would like to offer my commiserations and say that I believe you should have won. Your team was courageous and committed and I admire their effort. Better luck next season.

yeh i agree....
u played extrememly well but essendon as soon as they started this season were gunna get into the granny and the umpires we all knew were gunna help em out.......
we (melbourne) also lost our game earlier in the year by only a goal but they got about 3 or 4 goals from frees that weren't frees and the umpires ****ed it up and if u look 2 it we shoulda won...

but well done and good luck next year...hopefully c ya in next yrs granny...

yeah it was pretty poor and very very frustrating
it was like it was essendon/umpires versus hawks!

oh well all us hawks supporters and i think a few bombers supporters know that we were better today and we should have won

but there is next year and we will be a power team and hopefully go all the way! oh yeah baby
