Betts was on the end of two beauties that quarter. First the Scotland kick to advantage when most would have blazed away to Fev, then that brilliant handball from Murph.

In previous years it has been so easy to identify our best players on any particular night.

Last night, I genuinely have no idea.

Throw a blanket over about 10 names - Judd, Gibbs, Murphy, Kreuzer, Hadley, Betts, Wiggins, Robinson, Waite, even Simpson despite his poor disposal.

Any of them could genuinely get votes for last night and there will be a couple of players genuinely unlucky to miss out.
