Hit 103 at the Melbourne Airport Course. Good course, will go there again definitely. My irons absolutely murdered me all day, off the tee I was really good and for once my putting was somewhat passable.

How did you go on the 6th?

so as alluded to on the bball board, 30 pts.

benign conditions in the morning, the it happened. sun and wind.

started with 44 on the first, and finished with 44 on the last. bits in between not great, especially the first 9. putting was woeful, normally automatic within a foot i had the yips today.
early tee off around 7.

course took a bit of a battering yesterday with the old course out of action for club champs. so everyone else had to play ocean or moonah. also many guests. PET HATE - people who dont repair divots or pitch marks on the green.

Im guessing thats the one on the massive angle? I got a Bogey on that hole, absolutely massive drive for my standards which got me up most of the hill, then had a really good approach shot just short of the green, chipped onto the green then two putted.

My only problem is inconsistency. Bogeyed all of the holes before that one, then completely broke down on the 7th to 9th holes shooting 4+ over par on each of them. It's a shame but thats golf I suppose.

Going to play there again this coming week so I'll report back after my round.

Mate, without blowing my whistle, I was a 4 handicapper around there. I grew up playing that course. Any advice you want, let me know. I can guarantee I'll save you a few shots!

Any help would be great, considering I am still a shit golfer. It was one of my better days, hopefully soon I can shave a few shots off it, I will begin to play a lot regularly now due to not having uni any more.

Cheers bud

Never miss a green over the back. Very hard to get up and down from is my first bit of advice.

Played nine holes at my local course on Friday. Shot 43 which is quite good for me. I only started playing again a couple of months ago.

Played at Amstel (Cranbourne) last night, started on the back 9, got to like the 16th then the cart had to be returned. Continued on the front 9 til I got too dark to see. Bloody hard course for some beginners.

Cheers bud, I found that out the hard way last time which caused me playing tennis with the green due to some of them being quite narrow and sloping away from the cup.

Playing tomorrow, hopefully I go alright. Will report back tomorrow.

Couldn't help but laugh at how badly I ended up playing today. Got par on 4 out of the 5 first holes then everything went bad from there. Definitely the worst round of 18 I have ever played.

Only thing I can take out of it is that I really really really need to get lessons with how to properly hit my irons. Might see if I can get a lesson in the near future.

Moe is a good track if i recall rightly, does it have a hole where the powerlines run over the fairway, if u hit em you get another drive?

Hole 2, Par 5. Have hit many good drives into them over the years.

Into the prevailing breeze, wind, gale, a longer iron with an abbreviated swing now looks more favourable than a ballooned short iron.

The visual intimidation has been eliminated.

its basically hit and hope mate. dont have the crap at the back to potentialy stop balls

Why isn't there a golf section on the 'More Sports' board?

Well if there was a separate board I'd be a frequent poster.

I just don't get why Cycling, Tennis and even Ice Hockey have their own, whilst Golf doesn't..
