83 at waverley public today. Driving terrible but was ok in the end when I went back to old swing. Putting below average. Some good irons from time to time but was all a bit average golf wise for me. Front nine very slow but back was moving quicker. Joined the couple in front...Lady was great...bloke was terrible.

Make a mental note of never playing with him again!

apart from the Cups, can anyone recommend a good 9 hole course around the peninsula/frankston area?

I'm seeing some family tomorrow and won't have time for a full 18 but don't want to play half a course I've never played before so wonder if down that way there are any reasonable 9 hole courses.

Why not The Cups? Will be able to give you some idea what you will be dealing with when you play the Dunes?

So just got back from my 1st full round in a while. I'm bitterly disappointed. 2 under for the outward 9 which is a best for me so I was wrapped. Bogeyed the 1st 2 holes of the back 9 without playing badly which is fine. Then the choke came. Snap hooked my tee shot, hit a tree, no idea where it went. Was hitting 3 off the tee on a hole ranked №3 on the course. Tried to keep it together but walked off with a triple. Bogeyed the next to be 4 over for the round. Kept it together for the rest of the round parring everything (missed 3x birdie putts inside 10ft grrrrr.) and finished with a best equalling 76. My dream/life goal is par for 18 holes and to be in such a good position after 9 is really pleasing but there's a huge 'what if' in my life now. I felt this round coming and I think it was a loss of tempo in my swing that cost me.
Always tomorrow I guess.

On the road back from a form slump. Have been getting serious about losing the massive flip I have in my swing which has always added heaps of loft and cost me huge distance, and made me chunk shots a lot. Had a lesson on adding more lag to my swing and not releasing the wrists so early. Heaps of half swings with the hands ahead of the ball, focusing on having a swing bottom ahead of the ball. I can hit these half swings just as far with an 8 iron than I could with a full swing before. Just need to keep ingraining the feeling. Applying to my chips, putts and pitches too.

Till then, keeping off the course for the moment. Won’t be long. Driving is as sound as it ever has been.

Sounds like good advice to me. Keep it up.

Have a look at tour striker plane mate. The first protocols absolutely drill this feeling into you, to stop your swing being to handsy and quieten them down....making the rotation of your body square the clubface and keep lag...getting hands just forward of ball at impact for that sexy lower ball light. Used it, wish I had of done it when I was a teenager.

Yeah I’ve had a look at it. Expensive. But it sounds like a really good thing so might have to invest.
