Ulverstone. In Tassie.

Was 7, probably gone out to 8 now though.

Is it a good track? never played it - playing barnboogle (wrong spelling i think) in Feb 2013.

7 is good golf - what sticks/driver/ball do you use?

Aside from Barbougal/Lost Farm it'd easily be in the top 3 for Tassie. Hard course, long, fairways lined with trees. Always kept in great nick, it's just with all the rain it can get a bit boggy.

R11 driver, Mizuno MP52 irons, Nike SV wedges, Odyssey Black Series II Putter. Usually use a Titleist Pro V ball as the greens are hard as rock.

You'll like Barbougal. I preferred Lost Farm, but either way, bring plenty of balls.

nice to see another mizuno player, i've got the 57's and updating to the 64's early in the new year most likely. cracking irons. shame about the r11 tho

yeah, underrated irons.

Went the R11 because I've always had Taylormade drivers. It goes alright. Will probably change it up next time i upgrade.

i went from my beloved r9 which finally cracked to a ping i20 and haven't looked back. Pretty sexy as well, makes me feel like batman

Do you hit the Ping further? straighter? any other difference? I have an old Taylor Made R5 with a tour xtra stiff shaft - it goes good, have tried the R7, R9 & R11 and can see no reason to swap, I've never had a Ping Driver?

trackman numbers showed less spin with the i20, tests were done using the same Nike One Tour balls i always use. I have gained a few extra metres distance but nothing overly noticeable. It's rocking a 73 gram blueboard stiff shaft.

Do others have papers under their grips? have recently added them to my Taylor mades and they have made a massive difference to my game
ive got 4 layers of grip tape on my irons and wedges if thats what you mean by papers?

i think he is talking about adding extra grip tape to thicken your grip, can help some people with strong grips

recently fixed this up.

Had some severe low hooks creep into my game. Weakening my grip also helped my chipping ten fold too.

what's this papers stuff?

all the pros i talk too (golf ones anyway) talk about papers under your grip - gives you a thicker grip based on hand size and grip strength, like Vincent Chase & Funk 44 it really does make a massive difference to your play, certainly worth investigating MHO. I have what they call 4 papers under my grips - they just feel so much more comfortable, i no longer feel like i am strangling the club

Hit 103 at the Melbourne Airport Course. Good course, will go there again definitely. My irons absolutely murdered me all day, off the tee I was really good and for once my putting was somewhat passable.
