Broke 50 around royal park this arvo. 47 for those playing at home.

Bumped into a fella who was off 3. He mentioned that getting clubs fitted would help anyone's game more than you could appreciate.

Is he talking smack or what? Keep in mind he was the one that told me his handicap
Yes it could help you heaps. Depends on what you have at the moment. If your using a set of 1975 Spaldings that your dad had...any modern club will much easier to play with. Maybe what you have got is not that far off what you need? If they aren't too bad, technique will improve you quicker though, I think.

If you are just beginning your golf journey, keep in mind that you will improve if you stick at it...and might want something better down the track...and your specs could change if you get good. Length of club wont though.

Anyway...good score...should have gone around again and seen if you could have broken 90!

I would have but unfortunately buses don't drive themselves.

I have a set of clubs maybe 10 years old. My driver is 5 years old. If I can crack the top 3 times in the next 6 weeks.

I'm gonna get fitted and spend up.

No idea how the fitting works with club prices but we shall see..

I was so impressed today. I only chunked one iron shot so today. Rest were hit well, few were absolutely crisp. So improvement is there. I play twice a week, so you'd hope I'd improve.

So Many factors, just play and practice chipping and putting if your clubs are decent then hold off imo.

Slowly coming together, had a couple of birdies but still only 29 points and handicap still on the drift!
Short game is in pretty good knick but struggling driving. An injury to my knee not helping transferring through the ball.
Playing Southern tomorrow so hopefully break back into the 30’s... rare air!😂

He's talking smack. Will likely make no difference whatsoever to your scores.

Well, fitted clubs do make a difference, but if you're just having a hit for fun here and there and not entering comps or serious per se, then yeah no great need for it. but so many factors at play

He’s back!
Never thought I’d get into the 30’s again 2 weeks ago! 35 today at southern and it feels like I had 50! Handicap blowing out hides the fact that I’m still not going great but sshhh baby steps!

Don't take advice from anyone that's not a single figure handicap.
So believe him.

Played 9 and badly sliced nearly every iron. By the 8th was getting so frustrated decided to drop a ball for a practice shot in the middle of the fairway about 140m out. Struck the sweetest 7 iron to a metre. Walked up to where my actual ball was lying on the hole and with a wedge hit the worst slice of the round.

I hate golf sometimes!

Shot 108 today at Bundoora. 41 putts. 1 less putt per hole gets me to a respectful 90.
Unlikely you would be taking 23 putts. I would be trying to get that down to about 32-34 which would mean you are getting close to breaking 100
