Any idea where one would be able to replace a hybrid shaft? Threw my putter into my bag and snapped the shaft clean in half.
I think you said your clubs are 10 years old?

Buying a replacement second hand one on Gumtree will be cheaper.

When somebody says points, what are they meaning? I've never understood
Stableford is a popular scoring system used in club comps. If you are a high handicapper and playing the hardest hole on a course...say a par 4...your par would be 6 shots. If you have 6 shots you would get 2 points. 7 shots...1 point. 8 shots a wipe...zero points. 5 shots 3 points..very good.

A wipe in stableford still allows you to go well on that day....but a 10 or 11 in stroke play (which is how you are counting your score currently) means you probably cannot win on that day as you will finish with a too high score.

Holes on a course are rated from 1 (hardest) to 18 (easiest). Say you play off 27 handicap. The nine hardest holes give you 2 extra shots...the 9 easiest holes give you one extra shot.

Hope I got that correct...been 20 years plus since I played it.

On handicaps. How long do people think...in this crazy PC world we live in, before someone takes offence to the word Handicap. And it gets changed to something like your "score adjustment"!

7 fairways and 1 green. Easy to tell where my problems are at the moment. Add in not being able to make a putt outside 4 feet and it just made it a terrible round.

At least i was chipping consistently to 4 or 5 feet

Played Sanctuary Lakes on Thursday for the first time. Nice track, was lucky it was a sunny day and wind wasn't too strong. Scratchy 45 on the front, but an ok 40 on the back. Played with the old man and two randoms who were absolute chops. They probably lost a dozen balls each. One bloke didn't make the ladies tee at least 6 times and couldn't get out of the bunkers. Literally couldn't. Had 3 or 4 goes each time, then just picked it up.

It amazes me how bad some people in the bunkers. My home course has been rebuilding one of the greens over the last 3 months, and they have added 3 new bunkers which are probably now the 3 deepest on the course. I think 25% of the members will struggle to get out if them. God help them on a stroke round.

the two randoms just starting out?

bunker shots are arguably the easiest shot to hit. arguably. But unless lessons are obtained its a nightmare. people are innately afraid of them. technique. and even then you have good and bad days

Quick 9 at Oakleigh today.
Few bad holes at the end when I was a bit sore and fatigued blew out the round but still pretty happy.

Was really good off the tee, no hooks or slices, found green/fairway on every hole. A couple of times I went long off the back of the green because I was striking them better than expected.

Hit a couple of peaches on the shorter holes with the 9 iron that dropped dead within 6 feet of the hole, but bad putting gave them a par and a bogey.

Couldn't get the short game chipping going, it was quite muddy and wet so getting good connection with the wedges was tough. Still have a tendency to overshoot and go off the back because I'm chipping for the hole and should be aiming to land it well before that and roll out. Smarter course management/shot selection could shave 3-5 strokes off my round I reckon.

Putting was okay, but only okay and not great. Had a few nice long puts get close with good distance control, but still had too many holes where I am overshooting and rolling 4 feet past the hole when I miss.

I’ve recently gone from interlock to baseball grip for my shots. Helping me release a hell of a lot more. Had my first round doing so after a couple of range session. 34 points. Came good on the back 9 with 20 points. My driving was off with the new grip, a lot going right, but irons were saving me.
