So after 128 yesterday (would have been 15 points), I shoot 115 today for 30 points at another course.

I play today’s course so much better, frustrating because yesterday’s club is my home club and I play there every week while I’ve played today’s course a handful of times. My home club is longer but is also meant to be the district’s easiest course in terms of trouble.
Relax, your scoring at your current level will be a roller coaster

Just enjoy being able to play bud and your scoring will improve

I definitely enjoyed today. Great course. Only two wipes.

thanks ;)

Another 88 today. Drove badly and felt scrappy for most the round so not the worst score.
And then today i felt i hit it so much better that i was disappointed with 86. A triple on the 14th ruined the chances of a really good score for me

And if you play bad: you just walked 10km. I run at least 3km a day 3-5 days a week. A day of golf smashes that in terms of calories burned according to my Apple Watch
Running is one mode - run. Golf burns all those calories planning, cussing, celebrating, reliving, dreaming, looking.

I’ve bought a new bag in preparation for lockdown to finish. Been chipping and putting like a champ in my backyard. Also have spent maybe an hour every second day recording and analysing my swing. Even though I have had a handful of lessons and would normally play once or twice a week with another couple of sessions at the range, I’ve never had a backyard until lockdown (moved house).

Confidence is sky high. For a footy comparison, I am Kyle Langford being compared to Fyfe in November.

Come at me handicap.

(fast forward to first game and I score 18 points)

I can feel the future frustration from here. 😂

37 (par 35) - bit of an easy course quite short
46 (followed)

41 (Par 35)
47 (Followed)

45 (Yesterday 9 holes) cored greens and sideway winds didn't help my slice off the driver

Putting: has improved alot with a closer stance meaning the shoulders roll and not using the hands as much.

Chipping: What's really working for me now is the chip and runs with P,9,8 irons instead of getting a 58 out and flopping onto the hole. Ended up throwing the club and thinning too many

Irons: 4 weeks in with my new p760s they're going pretty well. I've been basically hitting a different swing though (Trying to draw) which I can do off the tee but off ground I can't

Driver: Needs the work. Some big slices and and some nasty hooks and a couple straight ones. Got it on 9 degrees so hitting low ones. Swing is hitting down on the ball and not up on it enough. I'm also trying to get rid of my fade/slice so trying to get a draw for extra metres

Went round Hillview Classic after work. Decided to play proper tournament rules as I begin to prepare playing competitively more. Went around in 46. I also scored as if I was playing stableford, giving myself a handicap of 20. Scored 18.

Got a love/hate relationship with Hillview. It’s convenient and usually nice and quiet with it’s 27 holes. But the trade off is very ordinary “rough” that is basically sticks and sand. It’s one of those courses where you can hit a ball straight down the fairway and it gets lost in a Bermuda Triangle vortex of unkept grass.

Whats generally a good score for stableford?

And is it typically scored:
Net double bogey+: 0 points
Net bogey: 1 point
Net par: 2 points
Net birdie: 3 points

36 points in considered solid

Most club comps are won with 40-44 points, someone has a day out

Most golfers will shoot 30-36 points

Booked into RACV Creswick Ballarat for this weekend

Anyone played it?
Hearing is old Olinda on roids
Have stayed there and loved it. Not super hilly all over but certain holes have their moments. I think Vic pga's/opens(?) Have been played there. Serious course from the tips. Good test.

Apparently Allenby asked to remove his name from the design of it.

Many many mixed reviews

Is it still RACV? I played there a while back when I lived locally, was at the time the best course in the area. Ballarat GC will have taken that mantle now though, that course is in ripping condition.
