You never get used to it. That’s why they invented golf carts. Hot weather, give me a cart thanks. Otherwise I walk. I like walking. Plus, if the rain comes I find it easier to stay dry when walking. In a cart the rain gets in all the time.

we got some carts that are fully enclosed (plastic covers that roll up and down). They are grouse when rains coming sideways

Speaking of destination golf, I am heading up to Noosa in QLD and looking to play a few of the courses when there. It's a bit hard to bring my clubs and gear up in these circumstances so am looking to hire clubs.

Generally does anyone know what the hire experience is usually at semi decent courses? I don't need 2021 brand new clubs but I don't want to pay $30 to go around with 25 year old irons that I can't get off the ground.

Y so hard to take your own clubs? If 99% of the time it is inconvenient for you to take clubs, that means 1% itll be ok. (theres still a chance!). Do it!

Would have to add the baggage now, me and my wife so 2 suitcases + 2 golf bags on return flights, lug all of that through the airport then need to fit all that into the cars and the hire car up there, and then that's only for golf bag and clubs would still need to hire a cart anyway. Just seems like it'd be more effort than reward if I can just hire some decent sets. I've never done it before though.

Fair enough.

For the future if you are to go on a golf trip with da boys or something (or even wifey), consider this

Aside from protecting your clubs and bag, you can chuck your clothes and shoes in there as well. With some luck, only need to check in this bag!

* man packing the bag not included

How many times are you playing? I took my clubs to Denver, Colorado 2 years ago for 2 games of golf. My wife shook her head at me awkwardly dragging my luggage bag and my golf clubs everywhere. If I was to do it all again I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s infinitely more enjoyable using your own sticks. The hire ones usually aren’t much chop and you’ll shell out between $25 to $50 minimum at the Sunny Coast.

Some of my golfing buddies are playing today in about an hours time. I’m at home with my 15 year old daughters. How much blowback do you reckon I’d cop from the Mrs if she gets home from work at 3:30 and I’m at golf. Especially considering that I’m playing tomorrow morning and on our Show Holiday on Friday? 😂

I'm in two minds mate, I'll be there for a week and hoping to play at least twice. It's hard though because it's double, myself and wife 4x pieces in total have to fit in a Toyota Yaris hire car.

I played in Darwin once. While putting, the sweat was running off of my nose onto the ball. I had to have a sit down after 6 holes for 10 mins to get my energy back. It was awful.

Same here but trying to produce passport as well as customs papers and carryon bag was a hassle.

Understandable. wait a minute, dont you pick up your baggage after clearning customs?

id like to emphasise this. golf is hard enough as it is. using clubs that arent suited to your game spells disaster

Clubs in the back seat.

Maybe it was a declaration form I had to give to customs when I re-entered the country. This was to declare that I wasn’t breaking any bio security laws. Meanwhile, I forgot to clean the Colorado mud and duck shit off the bottom of my golf shoes. 😂👀

I don’t know much about sandbelt courses but golf with a cart will in South-East Qld at the decent/resort courses will range from $70 to $130 pp.
I’d search on Google to get a list of courses. Check their websites for pricing.
yeah sorry it was more of a question to what posters would pay (or expect/like to) for such courses (ie royal, kingston heath, metro etc)

Put an old broom in your bag
Broom slightly longer than driver protects all clubs from damage

You been taxi driving them all around sunny Qld, all cricket season and for other sport....I would try that line.

I don't disagree, it's just I'd need to outlay the following expenses
2x club travel bags/covers (our current golf bags are open topped)
2x extra baggage on each flight up and back
Probably still need to hire a push/electric buggy to carry the clubs and probably need to change car hire. Not to mention lugging 2 suitcases, 2 golf clubs and 2x carry ons through the airport.
Probably need to rent a bigger more expensive sedan.

It's just looking tough to make it work for a couple of rounds.

Still, the thought continues....

If you need to borrow a golf travel bag sing out.

It takes golf bag and clothes comfortably for a week long holiday

And just lay clubs across back seat
7kg carry on I assume
