Had a day off due to a sick kid today, but my wife came home from work a bit early to tag-in so I slipped away to play a quick 9 at Altona Lakes.

Previously my PB there was 53. I hit a 49 today.

And that's with shitting the bed on the 4th hole (long par 5) and ending up with 9 strokes.

So yeah... good to see progress. Happy with that.

(Also now that I've played a few more courses I gotta say, for a local little 9 holer, Altona Lakes is surprisingly good. It's well-kept and challenging).

My lag putting is horrendous atm. Can't seem to work it out when the greens are running slower.

Although one of my three putts was a miss from two feet on the last to lose our match. Inspiring stuff.

My inability to adapt cannot be blamed on the greens. Given they had the Nepean pro-am there yesterday can only guess the greens copped a real haircut and I will screw it up the other way tomorrow.

9 holes tonight. Even. 13 putts, x2 up &downs from bunkers, 1 chip in, x2 birdies, x4 GIR, missed x4 by 2m Max. Hitting little cuts off the tee at will. Just great fun.

Second week of dealing with cored greens, was heaps better than week one but still a ****ing lottery, and a shit one at that. Three putted a bunch of times with the theory that it would stay straightish if I whacked it. Hitting my irons better than ever though. 29 points today with a million putts.

The Australian GC. Immaculate conditions. Might long holes to finish. Delight to play but did not play anything to deserve th tee time. Absolutely shithouse. Gotta be better.

No highlights at all. Greens were diabolically fast (13) and pins in club champ spots it seemed. Or worse.

As Victorias mostly here playing north of the border presents challenges fundamental to the game. You have different grass and bunkers. Grabby grass and very grainy sand.

Not sure photos do it justice. Should’ve taken more.

Second time playing here and I again found the Men’s only bar interesting

Hit 3 fairways out of 14, some misses only barely. My recovery stuff was out of this world (except for the two doubles.)

Thought I was on for a good one today...sitting 3 over after 8 (2 three putts), After a good drive on 9 and what I thought was very good blind approach on nine...that took a bad bounce. 5 doubles on the last 10. 16 over. Pretty disappointed with that finish.

I know improvement over time is not linear, but I'd like more consistent 'ups' than 'downs'.

Played 9 after work at Altona Lakes today, and ignoring how over-crowded the course was and how slow the pace of play was, my personal game today was trash. Absolute trash. So many shanks. So many bad reads and poorer executions.

Will say though, the course is in absolutely fantastic condition. The rain this week has been good to it.

Anyways I made another dumb little video.

Didn't play in the comp due time being at the Devils 1st game at North Hobart oval.
Played 18 in the afternoon off the blacks in honour of it being Monthly Medal.
80 off the stick, 34 points with x2 wipes/doubles. No birdies.
Perfect weather. Between January and April, Hobart has the best golfing weather in the world. We're so blessed. No humidity, no wind, still plenty of light.
