Carlton
Over at the Carlton Board it appears all our players are guns.

I haven't had a chance to see any of the game just yet, so I'm wondering if Bomber supporters who went to the game could give me an unbiased perspective on some Blues players.

Who do you think will cut it in the AFL, who has no chance?

Cheers!

Shouldn't have any worries with Waite, Kennedy should be good but I'm not sure he'll ever be close to a superstar, time will tell on that assumption.

They're probably calling all your defenders superstars, in fairness our delivery was shocking so a few more games and you'll get a better view of them.

Murph is obvioulsy going to be a gun, Gibbs didn't get a great deal of it but should at least be a solid player.

They call us crap for losing to 16th while trying when it's fair to say you also beat 15th by only 4 points with not many players out, IMO, there's a lot of young players and still some holes on the list (obviously at Essendon too) so don't get too carried away yet, just like we did previoulsy

murphy is going to be a gun.

waite played well and took some good grabs.

gibbs can't really say, did a few good things but to early really.

o'hallipan took a good mark or two, looked ok.

there were a few other youngsters that looked quite good as well, but i'm not yet convinced on kennedy.

O' Hailpin has improved bucketloads. Simpson looks good. Waite will win your B&F, if not his year then soon. He will be an absolute star. Don't lose his (unless it is to essendon)

You guys need a ruckman. If Ackland wasn't picked up, you guys would be absolutely screwed. Unfortunately he is just a stopgap until you find a better one. He is no better than that.

I wish we had 3 Jarrad Waites....excellent performance,killed us.

how many marks at CHB did he take?:thumbsu:

Mt impressions , well the obvious one first and that is if Waite can get through the season without injury you will be better to start with. He has shown that he can be a star for a couple of seasons now so the injuries have been unfortuneate.
O'Halpin looks like he may have a spot. Initially i wasnt a real fan but he has shown improvement in every senior game he has played.
Murphy and Gibbs pretty much speak for themselves.
Simpson is good.
Walker should be pretty reliable if he can stay injury free.
Kennedy looks to be a good forward in the making.

I dont see any reason why Carlton wont improve. Both our skills where pretty ordinary at time last night but there are a number of young players that the Blues should be able to build a team around. The ruck is the obvious worry at the moment.

No doubt it's a worry.

Apparently though, there's a young draftee, Shaun Hampson, who has raised a few eyebrows. Good at ground level, can leap of both feet and palms the ball adeptly with both hands. Still a few years away yet one would think.

I think regardless of the talent, no 18 year old ruckman can come in and hold down a spot for a season. It's tough for any 18 year old to do that, it's just about impossible for a ruckman.
