After much whinging and whining about the game at AAMI, I'm ready to move on. :)

In the end, I accept the efforts were there and hopefully our form is coming back.

This week it's Freo. A soft pack of front-runners who actually play pretty well at Subiaco. Some even say you can't win there. Reality is however, Freo are beaten at Subi a few times every year. All it takes is a bit of knowledge about their wide running gameplan and plenty of pressure. With this in mind, here is the lineup I would take over to Subiaco:

B: D.Teague K.Norman A.Carazzo

HB: M.Lappin L.Whitnall T.Sporn

C: A.Walker N.Stevens S.Camporeale

HF: C.Chamber A.Deluca J.Waite

F: T.Longmuir B.Fevola J.Davies

FOL: B.French A.Koutoufides R.Houlihan

INT:
C.McGrath
E.Betts
B.Johnson
S.Wiggins

In:
S.Camporeale

Out
G.Bowyer

NOTES
One change this week. Bowyer had an excellent game and deserves to stay in the side, but it's horses for courses and we need speed to cover the wide paddock of Subiaco.

Our half back line looks more like a half forward line, but keep in mind we're still trying to cover for our undermanned backline. Moving Lance to the backline last weekend was a winning move IMO. I'm not saying he should move there permanently, just this week. T-Bird will return for Hawthorn.

Kouta on the ball. It's not rocket science.........

Houlihan has the silky skills and evasive moves to play as a rover. I hear you all shout "He's too bloody inconsistent!". Maybe, maybe... But if he's on, we're on. Understand?

Johnson has a crap kick, but is a clearence machine. I'm not a big fan, but he deserves to stay.

Speaking of not being a big fan, Wiggins also gets to stay. He did some stupid things that had me tearing my hair out, but overall he played OK.

Agree with the side, we need the likes of walker and chambers up around the wing area to add some speed around the ground over there. Surely houlihan starts backline and IF he's on let him pinch hit in the midfield. As has been stated freo love running foward of the ball so we need players who can add defensive pressure, not a real asset of ryans!!

As you said IF he's on, we r a better side, if he's off and playing in the midfield, brownlow votes will be shared between the three freo midfielders!

Nah not Thornton, to much if a risk .... and flying won't help either.

Play him in the seconds and save him for Hawthorn and Richmond.

Yes, but its about time we got a defender back. We need to stop pavlich. I don't think Norman is up to the task

Ins: Camporeale, Thornton (if he can play)
Out: Betts, Bowyer

I hope we don't axe Betts. Had a quiet game last week but I'd prepared to play him this game and then drop him back to the ressies if he struggles.

Reason being .... quoted saying he's excited about the possibility of going back home to WA and playing in front of his family and it's his old lady's birthday .... just the sort of stuff that will see a little freak like him kick a bag

We need some speed, so its a horses for course.

Outs:
- Longmuir (seems good but other guys ahead)
- Bowyer (like him a lot but not sure whether he will have the pace/endurance)
- Sporn
- Johnson (played well last week but lacks for leg speed sometimes...good for our winter outdoor games).

In:
- Bannister (a pretty amazing athlete...great combination of speed and endurance)
- Simpson or Clarke (I know its a big call but he's been getting votes in the twos and could definitely play a fast tagging role)
- Morrell (play a Prender type role...and can switch with Lance between back and forward line)
- Campo

I think the most likely changes will be the Bowyer and Johnston (purely a speed thing) out for Campo and Bannister.

Its a tough call...it just seems to me we have so many good off-the-bench players (i.e. would get a game playing off the bench for many teams but would struggle to cement a top 18 spot in a good team).

Why would you change the team balance with so many changes?? Longmuir did well on Saturday I thought, for his first game, should of had 4 goals.

Johnson played his best game for the Blues as well, so there is no way you could dump him on that performance.
Finding the ball is just as important as pace, and Johnson excells in this area.

Bowyer played well also, but I don't think should be dropped. Sporn also played OK.

My only change would be

IN: Campo (if fit)
OUT: Betts

That's the most ridiculous changes I have seen.

To many changes their mate, unwanted and uncalled for changes as well...

I don't want to see Camporeale come in as he still needs more time out to learn that he costs the side with his lack of leadership. No change to the side unless Thornton is fit enough to play.

Big call Cypher, but i agree in principal. Has already been reported and suspened twice this year. You'd think a guy who turns 30 this year would be used to it (being tagged) by now.

However, saying that, i'd make just the one change.

In - Camporeale
Out - Betts

Pehaps a bit harsh, but he had no touches last week. We could use Wiggins/Chambers/Lappin/Houlihan/Davies up in that forward pocket.

Missing the opportunity to play infront of family and friends is punishment enough, besides he's one of our senior players and we lack his kind of personal.

I really hope they don't drop Eddie , playing his first game at home will be a huge boost for him ..and may be just the catalyst for him to have a blinder .
Johnson also deserves to keep his spot .
the only change i could forsee is Camporeale in for Bowyer ...even then Bowyer will be unlucky to miss out as he played ok the other night

I'm sick of Camporeale's attitude to taggers and you'd think a 200 game player would be smart enough to beat them. You don't see Harvey or Judd going the knuckle and losing focus due to their minder, I guess that's why they've been champions rather than just a good player.
Don't drop Betts for Camporeale, and if someone has to be dropped it will be Bowyer's slow legs.

I wouldn't drop Bowyer. What precedent are the team setting if you get dropped from a good performance? It just wouldn't be fair.

Camporeale is the only likely inclusion as far as I can see. I would love to see Bannister come in as well. I would think davies and Betts might be spending a week with the Bullants. davies hasn't really impressed me and Betts didn't get a touch on the weekend. IMO Mcgrath will need to do more than just a tagging role this weekend and start finding the ball himself or he might end up playing in the bullants next week.

I would love to keep the team unchanged...

I'd say Bowyer would be out - even though he played really well Saturday night.

McGrath will be on consideration and likewise Betts, however, give him one week more week.

Another tough one at the selection table!

IN: Campo

OUT: Betts (most likely and fair)

Can I just add, I would prefer Davies to be in the side then the likes of Betts.

Davies very good in and under and has a bit of cheek about him, can kick a goal and use the ball pretty well.

Davies is a clever player who creates space for our other forwards. I too would prefer him to Betts, but this team shouldn't be picked on form, rather we took a horses for courses approach. As I said Out- Bowyer, In- Campo.
