This has been happening for a few months now but I haven't really done anything about it.

A few months back, youtube did one of its site updates, and now it's not running properly on my browser.

I'll be able to watch a video or two, but then for some unknown reason, when I click on anything else (be it video, or any other clickable link on the site), a pop-up appears titled 'opening watch', saying 'you have chosen to open watch which is a: application/octet-stream from:http://www.youtube.com, what should firefox do with this file?'

It then has 'open with' and a corresponding browse button, and 'save file'. The thing is, the image logo next to watch isn't recognisable, it's the default image for when something isn't recognised by the compter system.

So instead of saying 'ok', I just 'cancel' the pop-up window, and the problem continues. I've gotta leave youtube an have to return after 10-15 minutes or so.

Internet Explorer works fine, but I don't like that browser, I'd rather stay with firefox.

Any advice? Please no trolling.

Generally when an "octet" is mentioned you'll find it's a bandwidth problem...as in the connection was either interrupted or very slow.

You using wireless BB?

The other thing I would do is check in the Plugins Tab of Firefox and disable anything which looks relevant.

I don't normally use firefox, but just did a fresh install of it and youtube worked without changing anything so it sounds to me like your missing a plugin for your browser, to update your plugin's go to Tools>Add-On's>Plugins>Find Updates.

If that doesn't work you could also try to reset all the settings on the browser or even re-install firefox if the reset doesn't work.
