Any news about the recent signings around the league? Two blokes (I'm guessing brothers) going to Belgrave yet to be cleared, any good? Bloked named Matthew Phillips from VAFA heading to Belgrave.. Coming from a gun division or a poor one? Guy from the Peninsula going to Olinda, could be a handy pick up if a Senior player. Woori picked up another EFL player, they usually have handy recruits but a bit late in the season for an EFL player to be coming across now if they are a decent player? Eg; Steve Kenny, that seems to have backfired for Emerald with no new clearence lodged on the site.

Any other recruitment whispers that aren't on the website?

Haha what the heck, Kenny now cleared for Emerald? Where is all of Emerald's money coming from? With some of the players they have recruited this season they must be deep in the red on their bank account! Seville's still the team to beat unless they are convincingly beaten, but next weeks match looks like a cracker! Might have to wander down to the Potato Chip and have a look.

Must be a fantastic canteen at Belgarve. Thats the only reason I could fathom Foo and his crew would make Belgrave v Powelltown Match of the round.

What a blockbuster of two of Div 2 powerhouses. Its hard enough watching the better sides in Div 2 let alone these two.

Could not agree more Finger. The league has done a fantastic job at trying to promote our footy in the best possible light. The filming of each game and putting the highlights on the internet is a fantastic concept. However they have let themselves down with this one. Surely the games they go to are preset and not chosen week to week. There are some great games on this week including arch rivals Warburton V Woori as well as Monbulk V Healesville, Olinda V Mt Eve or even Junction V Alex.

The boys on the radio have got their job cut out for them today. As the old saying goes 'you cant polish a ****!!'

Backhoe our aim is to get to a game at all grounds both 1st & 2nd division. Its not about trying to pick the game of the round. This way every club gets a fair exposure. This weeks its Belgrave's turn. End of story

you have confused me, you mentioned the term 'great games' and then included junction vs alex? can someone bring me up to speed.....laughable suggestion.

Must've been an entertaining day at Upwey today with all 3 games being close. Fair effort by the Yarra Glen under 18's to knock off an undefeated team. They now have beaten Upwey and Olinda, with the latter having beaten Healesville and Mount Evelyn (by over 100 points). Along with the seniors, it looks as though there will be a lot of twists and turns in the unders in season 2011.

Give up on this year!
Mt Ev cruising early with 3 zip now losing the last 3 to zip and may miss finals.
Pre-season faves in Gembrook, Upwey and Worri all yet to make a decent impression. Upwey have fallen in for their few wins and just snuck home today against the Glen.
Wandin struggling to buy in a side (or two!) in the off season, got hammered by Mt E and Upwey, but they belt Monbulk and now Gembrook and are looking like real finalists.
Monbulk, big preseason tip to fight Wandin for the wooden spoon, are in second place FFS!
Warby may have lost only one game, but what a miserable % for a flag contender 1/3rd of the way through the season.
Healsville could be fighting for relegation. Who would of thought that? But then everyone would have hoped so.
Last placed Y Glen have a healthy % of about 75, but only three sides are over 100%. 6 sides in the high 80s or 90s.
How even is that?
Even Healsville who are 2nd last are only one game out of fourth place.
Oh, and someone played in divvy 2, too.

Agree totally and you left out Olinda FC who kicked 16 and 18 goals in games where they were beaten and drew with Wandin.

Some interesting twists and turns ahead - Yarra Glen were very impressive today in all three grades. Whoever gets relegated this year may be considered somewhat unlucky.....

Great for the league this even Division - every game is hard to predict at the moment.

As for Division 2 Seville are the standout but it looks like Emerald may be closing the gap with some in season recruiting. Is Marcus Kenny also going to return? Yarra Junction seem to be going along ok too.

Well done to Powelly on their first win too...

This week Seville v Emerald should be a ripper. Emerald has more star players, but judging by the dominance of sevilles unders and ressies they probably have them covered for depth.

Shame about the rain this week the potato chip is already struggling, will be ordinary conditions.

I take your point Cole Tickle. Didnt want to seem to have Div 1 bias. Compared to Powelly V Belgrave i still think Junction V Alex would be a great game. To be honest the only game in Div 2 i would be interested in watching at this stage, as a neautral supporter, would be this weeks Seville V Emerald.

Fair call. Very handy ressies side and the unders just beat the only other undefeated side by close to 20 goals. Lets hope they can keep it up all year!

Any news on whats happening with the incident from the Yarra Glen v Woori Yallock game?

I heard that a Woori and YG player will probably get 2 weeks each and that Woori would be fined or lose the 4 points for non complying with rules of non officials entering the ground. The investigator will make a report of whether the matters go the tribunal or not. Will probably take 4 weeks to decide.

Can anyone out there explain to me why it takes so long to get a result on such an incident (if there was actually one). There has been a bye due to interleague and another game played since. Surely an investigation needs to be undertaken straight away and the incident dealt with ASAP. It seems odd that a player can play for weeks following and then be suspended later in the year!

You seem pretty well informed on whats happening at Bomberland. You either support them or have insiders.A lot of money spent at the club to recruit the players they have got.l hope they have'nt put all the eggs in the one basket.l know we are keen to get into 1st divvy but we will need to go a step further to be competitive in that comp.l hope they have a bit more to spend if we get in.Any truth in the rumour Marcus is coming?

Its ridiculous! If it's serious enough to warrent an investigation, then it should be done THAT WEEK! And considering there was interleague in there, it could have already been sorted now. What's going on YVMDFL???

Amateurish in my opinion if it does take 4 weeks.

The players involved and their clubs need a fair bit of time to concoct a **** and bull story so that the issue will be dropped.

The incident has been caught on the DVD of the game. Maybe the investigater won't shell out $75 for a copy.

The player that was allegedly struck couldn't play on Saturday due to the alleged injury caused by the alleged incident.

agreed - it would appear that Interleague was all that mattered!

Then again, if I was being investigated I would like them to take their time and get it right rather than just rush it through.
The investigator would have to be appointed by the Board, chase down witnesses and make times to interview them, record all the results and then make the final report. The league has to meet together, read the report, work out what to do and then set up a Tribunal hearing.
That is not going to be done properly in one week, surely.

Anyone got a rope and a tree?
