Whilst im no way near as much of a Dawson basher as others, i do not belive this would be a good decision. Lets keep developing our own KP backmen our wait for a better option if one arises in the upcoming years.

Doubt it will happen anyways, but to reiterate, No.

Unless we have players who are so backward they can't put on their own condoms we don't want him.;)

He is a spud always has been always will be. His performances against quality are a testament to that :thumbsd:

Re: Zac Dawson, ummm, no

On a serious note, the only way I could see we would consider him is if Lonners decided after a premiership medal it wasn't worth the risk playing on. Otherwise the timing is not right to get an experienced key defender in while Scarlett is still playing and we don't know conclusively if Gillies will cut it without playing more football at AFL level.

I'd rather give one of our picks (that I've never heard of) in the upcoming draft a game than Dawson. He's shit.

Even better, read this from the article......"Richmond recruiters have been desperately scouring the nation for experienced and big bodied key backmen to bolster their defensive division".

Since when was Dawson big bodied? He's built like a twig and when caught one on one gets caught out.

No, no.......and no.

Re: Zac Dawson, ummm, no

Where would we put him? I don't think he would want to play VFL and that's the only place he would fit, as Lonergan, Taylor and Scarlett are far ahead of him.

We do need to find some young KPD's to develop for when Scarlett leaves, but Dawson definitely isn't the way to go.

Re: Zac Dawson, ummm, no

Didn't we establish during tradeweek that Sportsnewfirst is SEN on steroids when it comes to this stuff?

Correct.
I dont know why people read it never mind link to it. It's utter shit.

Re: Zac Dawson, ummm, no

We could find mature players who will give us at least as good depth as Dawson late in the national draft or somewhere in the rookie draft. Similarly, I can't see us being at the top of Zac's list, since other teams will definitely offer him an easier path to the seniors and will probably offer him more money. Not good for either party.

Re: Zac Dawson, ummm, no

I'm sure its just his manager bullshitting Freo to squeeze them for more money.

The main criticism of it is that some player agents are involved with it. Reckon that's what's happened here. Reckon Dawson is managed by one of them and he's attempting to up the ante.

Wouldn't have him in a fit. Nor would anyone in a position of influence at the club methinks. Anyhoo, I think he's Freo bound.

While Sports News First is wide of the mark sometimes. It also hits the mark at times too. Just a matter of being a bit discerning.

As for SEN. It's a lowest common denominator station. Life's too short to listen to the trash they serve up.

so I'm not the only one who says 'watch this guy turn it over' whenever St Kilda were playing on tv:D

One of the worst players I have ever seen play the game, his kicking is atrocious almost like Dane Swan who butchers the footy nearly every 2nd kick he takes (watch him in 2012 if you haven't noticed already).
..then again, here I am bagging players who bust their gut and I'm on the laptop with a muffin in hand.

Re: Zac Dawson, ummm, no

Biggest joke of a player. How is he even wanted in a team. Arrogant and a loser. I think everyone on this board understand more footy then him. Would rather have Karmichel in my team, because in at least one more year he will be heaps better then Zac.

As long as it's a nice muffin you are forgiven.

The good thing is we won't be looking from mature players from any other club anyway. Least of all someone as singularly crap as Dawson.

I do sincerely hope however he lines up on Hawkins at some point next year. Given half decent supply it could make for interesting viewing. :)

Re: Zac Dawson, ummm, no

The best part of this is that the draft will have one less taller defender taken before we gat a crack. Assuming Freo or maybe Richmond, follow thru of course.

Re: Zac Dawson, ummm, no

When Ross Lyon quit StKilda -Molly Meldrum (saints fanatic) basically said good riddance -because Lyon use to play Dawson at fullback -who was hopeless .

I think Molly has summed it up beautifully -and Dawson hadnt even quit the saints -when their number one supporter called him hopeless.
