Good point. Are talking about 'if Zaka is not available' scenarios?
We are doomed. Really no one like him on our list and thats why hes so important and valuable. Id be looking to Winderlich or Garlett (if drafted by us) otherwise really nothing else. Melksham is a completely different player IMO.

Winderlich is a star when on, but wouldn't 'groom' him or use him heavily in such a role at this stage of the team's development. I suppose that's what this discussion is about - who else could do it? Garlett is young. I could see Jetta performing as Fish described, but am unsure how confident I would be with him there significantly.

I have no idea what type of player Melksham is. Have been watching old matches, and some of the stuff he does is awesome, and then he disappears. Still unsure where to play him or what TRB's plan is for him. Genuinely vexed.

Actually come to think of it the Moose would probably be my pick. Ive come to the decision that Jetta is just a pure small forward and our best one and he should be played in that position.

Also id consider as ive said even if Zaka is playing, playing Heppell as a rotating half forward/onballer.

Im still not sure what role we are really filling. We lose Zacka an important player we lose something in the team that probably cant be replaced, otherwise if it could that player would be playing aswell. Really if i was to do a best 22 Zaka would be onball with Jobe and either Myers or Howlett probably. Basically both Myers and Howlett start onball for me if Zacka isnt fit.

We lose an important dimension to our team because we lose an important player. We cant fill his role, his role disappears and we do something different. He adds class to our midfield division and our team in general, so does Heppell.

I just don't see the acceleration or evasion from him. He does have the potential to be a classy ball user. I can see a bit of Beams in the way he kicks.

Melky's acceleration is actually very good, he's just got a low top speed, if you look at the AFL Grand Final Sprint from 2011 he was ahead of Dangerfield (the eventual winner) for the first 15 meters.
His agility isn't the best but he is still evasive due to that "ability to have more time".
