port say no

Why would we trade a contracted superstar arguably top 3 in the league, best port player since robbie gray arguably.
Fair enough. Would be mean you get a straight swap for NWM rather than paying three firsts and having Butters (possibly) leave next year.

I know the Dogs are trying to pull off the Butters trade this year. Butters wants to come to the Dogs. Bont took market unders to ensure there was enough for Butters. Bont and Butters have been in contact throughout this year.

I think the only way it happens is if NWM seeks a trade to PA. Will be an interesting off-season.

Butters management have informed Geelong that he prefers the Western Bulldogs.

You would imagine Butters would be close to 2mil if he stays past rfa , your cap must be tight even with juh leaving. Have you started a real estate and farming development as well.

Moving Caleb Daniel and Jack Macrae's contracts, plus the money we had for Bailey Smith gives us over $2million free in the cap. This is not including the potenital 800k we could free up if we can find a JUH buyer.

There is plenty of cash for Butters, and from reports, Bont has signed for around 1.4mill, I am sure he took unders knowing Butters is keen to come across for around the same.

I think it would be the Bulldogs greatest ever high-profile signing at his peak. Having all of Butters, Bont and Richards in the midfield would be insane. Then having Sam Darcy improving next year also. Would make us a contender even with the worse backline in the comp.

Certainly would be elite, time will tell , hopefully he stays with us.

Port’s gonna have to do something if they wanna get NAS.

What’s better, hold Butters for a year, don’t have the cattle to get NAS, risk losing him in 2026. Or have the conversation about the move this year?
I would have initially thought the same thing, but now I dont.
If Port can get Nas for say two future firsts and Whitlock this year (not saying he is leaving or St Kilda want Whitlock, its just an example) and then Butters decides to leave at the end of next year, the picks they will get for him could be alot better than the picks they gave up for Nas, depending of course of who Butters picked.

Bevo just wants a team of mids doesn't he.
22 mids and a ruck.

Lost a mid last year they couldn't fit in, now in for Butters and Erasmus. Makes no sense. A better defence makes WB a top 4 team.

Crows fans are obsessed with Lukosius.. what do you care?
We like to take the piss out of the little brother down Port Road.
Your board is full of posters obsessed with how average Thilthorpe, Rankine, Fog and Co are, and how we are a franchise club with no history.
That's what a good rivalry is all about. Its why the showdown is the premier game in the AFL.

Well done.

Butters can't be enjoying this
we have a similar record against the top 8 teams this season.

Both our teams are flat track bullies, actually wait... we beat west coast and north by a combined margin of 30 points.

in all seriousness, if he left, i wanna see him and bont together.

I don't expect the sogs to make the finals though they will probably finish with a record and percentage that would get them close to or top 4 most years... it's an anomaly year.. no loss over 22 points and just 2 of those under 2 goal losses and would be in the top 4 and 3 would be on top of the ladder.

Stupidly weird year. Not far off but need some more pieces
