Unfortunately he hasn't been the same since his knee reconstruction but yeah at least he will compete.

I don't know. Maybe it's to put perceived pressure on Clarke.
No Griffen means Clarke has a license to stink it up, at least we can plausibly punish Clarke if we retain Griffen.
But Griffen is by no means a mid-term option. He could be finished at any moment with his age and injuries, same with Sandi. Even if Clarke doesn't perform he will remain on the list and collect a pay cheque, which maybe is all he is playing for.

Yes he would, but nobody would have expected Clarke to be as bad as he has been today. Clarke was supposed to be the heir apparent to Sandi. But now it seems he is the next Colin Sylvia: a perennial underperformer. But hey Slyvia lasted on an AFL list under he was 30, so...

Will he? I'm not only judging him on his forward work. However rucks need to do more than tap a ball to their team mates.

Sandi hasn't ever become a reliable mark but we kept him because he's so dominant at tap outs.
I can't ever see Clarke becoming a reliable mark either, but while he's a good tap out ruck, I don't know that he'll be dominant.
I reckon his general play around the ground has regressed big time.

He was when Sandilands was out with turf toe... He has proven it imo. I reckon they should play him first ruck and Sandilands out of the square more often.
