Thanks for the list Matchu.

Absolutely:
Dangerfield
Hawkins
Steven

At a reasonable price:
Douglas
Adcock
Stokes
Rance
Scott Selwood (I'll need a safe house and new identity for suggesting that one)

Depth/speculative only:
Dempsey
Grundy
Easton Wood

Not on my watch:
Stanton

We can work in shifts....

Steven would be great if he wants to move to a stronger team. Very good player.

Douglas is a great two way runner and would be good for our mids.

Steven would be an excellent longer term addition.

He would but I wonder whether we could afford him. Would be the highest paid player on the list.
Yeah, Saints would certainly have plenty of money to throw at him which we certainly could not match.

Must chase Hawkins. Give him as much as possible.

There's bugger all chance he'd leave Sleepy Hollow, and that G-Town would let it happen, but your point is a good one as it may see G-Town have to dip far deeper into their kitty than they'd have hoped in order for them to retain him. Chipping away at a rival in such a way may help us longer term.

Yeah, it'd be great to see him at North, he's virtually unstoppable. Not many defenders can shut him down.

A lot of good names but would expect most of them to vanish before the season's end, the real opportunities are the guys who refuse to re-sign.

I think there are three major factors:
1) how well we perform in 2015.
2) how well other teams perform which have potential free agents.
3) the extent of our retirements and potential de-listees.

I think we still have space in our cap, we offered $450k p.a. to Greenwood and he isn't around so I think that money is going to be used to bring some contracts forward, that gives us a bit to play with given the salary cap goes up about $400k or so every year and player contracts aren't indexed to cap increases.

There is potential there for another decent addition but the 'hope' is that the internal improvement will demand the money more so than the demand for external talent to take up that money. That being said, I think FA reduces the potential risk of carrying a number of quality elder players if you can replace one for another.
