Commentator suggesting this might be our best ever bowling quartet.

She’s definitely taking the piss with that comment.

Lyon, Starc, Hazelwood and Cummins 1398 wickets from 346 games.

Warne and McGrath 1271 wickets from 269 games. Plus you had Lee, Gillespie, Clark Macgill all play with them.

Warne + McGrath aren’t a quartet.

This is 100% the best group of 4 bowlers to ever play together, for such an extended period.

i can see the point tbh.

Obviously Warne is the superior spinner and McGrath the best quick but Lee Gillespie and Clark are probably behind haze and Cummins.

Yep. This quartet have been more or less bowling together for 7 years and they've only been part of one overseas winning Test series.

Plus they played in two losing home series to India.

Just seems to be comment of classic NZ intimidated by Oz mindset.

You mean Williamson was out to his own stupidity - the slide & throw from Labuschagne would have seen him short of his ground regardless

It was Young's call for the run, not Williamson's call.

The stupidity was from Young, he needs a ton now to make up for it.

After you cross the boundary you are already out, he was just watching probably out of disbelief of how much they were both morons
Yeah, that's not a rule.

My guess is he was hoping the Australians would withdraw the appeal because he thought it was Starc that caused the collision. And the replay made him realise it was their own stupid fault.

From the man who brought you "On a turner, you just need to get to Jadeja on the full and hit him over midwicket" here's Ian Healy describing how to bat on a greentop.

You've added a caveat there. Given the strength of Warne and McGrath on their own, plus a handy 310 career wickets to Brett Lee and 259 to Jason Gillespie, I think that's still clearly our best quartet.

More even quartet and you’d have to make the main qualifier time playing together.

But Warne, McGrath, Lee and Gillespie was a much better quartet in terms of quality.

As a quartet I don’t see that it’s a massive stretch. McGrath and Warne weren’t four bowlers. They were two.

Quartet. Not duo with a bunch of others.

We have never had 4 Bowlers all playing at one time with this many wickets
