Can everyone please rate each coaching position in order of most desirable to alleviate some of my boredom at work today. Reasons why welcome as well.
=1 - Atlanta - Settled QB and stable offence.
=1 - San Francisco - Would've been far and away 1 if they had a good QB, instead, gargh, stuck with Kaepernick.
3 - Buffalo - Have a nice foundation and are improving nicely. Attractive option for a coach.
4 - Chicago - Because......
5 - Denver - Manning is a has been and they have a shitty QB situation.
6 - Oakland - .....lol

Quinn according to most reports.
Thankgod, was worried about the McDaniels rumours last week.
Didn't really want an O guy.
Give me someone who can help the D massively!

In other news, no surprise that ex-Seahawks LB, drafted #36 overall back in '78, Keith Butler, LB's coach from 2003, has been confirmed as Dick LeBeau's replacement as Steelers Def Co-Ordinator, no doubt, ex-Steelers / 'Fins LB, Joey Porter will hold the post as Steelers LB coach after serving as a LB assistant coach this past season.

Pittsburgh West aka Arizona Cardinals, didn't waste much time messing around, getting Dick LeBeau signed as their Def Co-Ordinator to join ex-Steeler OC and current HC mastermind, Bruce Arians in the Cardinals front-line on the sidelines. Smart choice. LeBeau's Defensive teams have been TOP FIVE ranked in most of his career coaching in da 'Burgh. Only last two seasons, not so good.

Yeah Doug marrone's effort is an all time boneheaded douchebag lol-worthy moment in the annals of nfl history.
He went all in on a pair of deuces

How about our very own BF mcgarnacle ? He's the GM of his beloved J-E-T-S with ex-Cards DC, Todd Bowles, stepping in Rex Ryan's old shoes as HC.

Just on Del Rio he wasn't exactly blessed with QBs at the Jags. Leftwich, Garrard and a guy that could finish any coach's career...Blaine Gabbert.
Then again john fox may go from manning to cutler

There couldn't be a more definitive description for the word : YIKES!!! to ^^^^ :p

Who would have thought Marrone could have gone from this

to worse

Some might see some irony in this article from a Jacksonville paper:

"
With the pool of head coaching jobs drying up, former Bills head coach Doug Marrone is apparently lowering his sights.

According to Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, Marrone was at Everbank Field Wednesday, ostensibly to interview for the vacant Jaguars offensive coordinator post.

He has the financial flexibility afford by pocketing $4 million from the Bills when he opted out of his contract, but hasn’t found another head coaching job.

He interviewed with the Jets, Falcons and Bears, but the Jets job is already filled and the Bears might be soon.

The Jaguars are looking for a replacement for Jedd Fisch, who was fired on Dec. 30. They have a varied field of candidates, including Vikings running backs coach Kirby Wilson, Dallas offensive line coach Bill Callahan, Jets running backs coach Anthony Lynn and Oakland offensive coordinator Greg Olson.

They might also be in the market for an offensive line coach, since George Yarno was out last year while battling cancer.

Again, Marrone can afford to do nothing for a year if he wants, but the chance to work with a young quarterback on an ascending team might be the trick if he wants to rebuild his chances to get another head coaching gig."

Yes he has the money but......

Which head coach would actually want an openly ambitious, presumably angry bloke like Marrone as an assistant. He is a ready made replacement mid season for them if their season goes south.

I was thinking facetiously that Philly hire Marrone as special assistant to the gm with no actual football duties to keep Kelly in line.

Scratch Bill Callahan from that list, just signed with Redskins (O-L).

Steve Spagnuolo (assistant DC - Ravens / former Rams HC) has been appointed G-Men DC.

The big wait is on Seahawks DC, Dan Quinn, who happens to hail from the same college as Mike Tomlin, William & Mary fame.

Sparano is gone apparently from Oakland after del Rios appointment...

You would have gone pretty brave to go with Marrone

He also inhereted a load of bad draft picks during that era too, which didn't help.
I'm still not sold on him, one could attribute his early success to him being a "breath of fresh air" following the fire and brimstone Coughlin years and not having much in his bag of tricks following that.
And, yes, he was also in the midst of a change of ownership/GM situation too, but do the Raiders provide any more stability to change a potential 'victim of circumstances' reason for his underacheiving in Jacksonville ?

The only other coach who I can compare Del Rio to (Spending his first 8+ years as HC at the one club with limited playoff success) is Jim Mora and he won diddly poo championships too.

In some ways you can't judge jdr poorly as he was coaching an expansion franchise, no history of success, revolving door of gm's and owners. If he had landed in Pittsburgh or Baltimore instead a case could be made he'd have very well won a super bowl or two. Not like Harbaugh or Tomlin are doing anything special themselves, it's more the organizational structure in place.

There's a risk at Oakland too as its a new Era with a green gm and new structure, and if it doesn't stay stable and produce good drafts, with yet another gm change then it could be a repeat of his time in Jacksonville.

Again tho even despite Jacksonville, he still had a fine record of like 87-91 or whatever it is.

Indeed,

Jack Del Rio will reinvigorate the Raiders locker room, you guys might even win 6 games next year

He is allergic to blitzing and couldn't do that much with a STACKED Denver D

That said he filled in pretty well when Fox was ill

In important news; Kubiak is interviewing with Denver this weekend and Shannahan, Kyle turned down the OC position at SF. I think he would be a good OC at Denver, but I think he would have been a great one at SF
