They are dreadful old technology doesn’t work

In the days before smart tvs I used to run a Mac Mini as my media hub. Feel like I might be dusting it off again.

I use a Telstra Roku box on both main TVs and never have a problem buffering wise or anything freezing and they are over 5yrs old now. Run Kayo / Netflix / Prime effortlessly. Using the inbuilt TV Apps they always run like shit.

Na they are good. Smart TV technology is horrid, it shouldn’t actually be that hard so that people don’t need chromecasts or extenders
They can get away with it because most people dont care.
think about how many have uncalibrated TV's, use the TV speakers or bad sound bars.

the people who want a good product they have devices to upsell.

Yeah I was going to say, one of the best additions to a TV setup

For what it's worth I don't mind the LG interface with the magic remote, intuitive and I rather scrolling to pick something to watch on the screen then finding it on my phone to then push to the TV

They would have a business model and you are correct they don't "need" to have it. They make more off people having to buy extras, it is annoying though

I love the good old 'built-in Chromecast' funny how it usually has around 50% of the performance of the actual units.
I would be surprised if its half as good as a actual chromecast 4k. i think its more just referring to the abilty to cast. I think now they call it Chromecast with Google TV. but they are so sluggish.
