Yeah nah, hype built on nothing more than a pre-season cliche. Let's not fool ourselves.

All the best to him but I'm not getting excited until it's justified... He can win every preseason trial and smash it in the preseason games but we'll find out when push comes to shove during the proper season on those cold winter days.

Look, I agree. His pre season is giving himself the platform to really push himself up the list and into the top 25.

Shows how little you know about the bloke.
Has never been able to do a pre season. Was drafted injured with serious hammy problems and has never done a full pre season.
This is the first time he has done a full pre Christmas program. Has nothing to do with hype or cliche's. It is simply good to see him get this far without injury.
Now he has the get past the next hurdle after Christmas.

He also seems to be particularly driven at this point in time which is nice and bodes well for the future.
 
Heard from a source that when he found out no clubs were particularity interested, that he had a good hard look at himself and had cancelled his off-season plans and started training straight away.

A poster on Blitz also mentioned that his girlfriend ditching him for James Magnussen may have also contributed to Kav pulling his finger out
 
Thats one hell of an ego check. Put yourself on the market and get no response then your gf leaves you for a successful sportsman.

Hopefully he can show us all that he is as good as he thought he was.

We have been waiting a while to hear that ie no more modified programs. He has been hiding behind that too much I feel. Let's hope things click this year otherwise he will have to get used to the VFL

Expectations relative to output. Magnussen is expected to win gold medals at the Olympics. He and his team mates were terrible in the 4x100m Freestyle, where we didn't get a medal yet were the favourites. He won a silver in the 100m Freestyle where he was the favourite by a fair margin.

He should have won 3 gold medals. 1 silver and 1 bronze was a disappointment.

Maybe, but this isn't one of those cases. Magnussen chokes when everyone's watching.
