Murph said he’d already made up his mind last week, he didn’t want to announce it then as he didn’t want to rain on Simmo’s parade. Sometimes we looked too deeply into things that aren’t there.

Great deal for us if true. 600k isn't what it used to be in terms of salary cap. From the way Murphy was talking I wouldn't be surprised to see Cripps/Doc as co-captains from next year onwards.
He was talking about playing on the back flank more this year. I'd prefer him in defence than attack until Docherty comes back.
Yeah he said he trained as a back in the preseason, I'm guessing after Doc went out

Done everything right FOR the club, got the deal done early, probably at reduced rate compared to a Free Agency market he could have very easily walked into.
To commit to our lot given our current position puts to bed where he’s at.

Just interested ... do people read anything into what he says at 1:04 regarding Captaincy handover?
Edit: Just watched the rest of it and think it's pretty clear from what he says that Marc expects to hand over the Captaincy to either Crippa or Doc at year's end.

Yeah I just finished watching the rest and I think he's expecting the handover at years end from the way he's answered some other questions.
