3 reasons why and why not your team can win the flag this year 2023

Can:
1. We somehow rediscover our best form that we hit mid season
2. Butters and rozee go god mode, JHF hits his straps at the right time
3. We come in as underdogs to a qualifying final, get the job done and then somehow figure out how to win a prelim. Momentum rolls on to the gf.

Can't:
1. Ken Hinkley
2. Chris Davies
3. David Koch

Why Collingwood can win:
1. C. McRae
2. Depth of Talent
3. Belief

Why Collingwood may not win:
1. M. Gawn
2. Petracca/Oliver
3. May/Lever

Melbourne the only team that will stand between Collingwood and the 2023 flag.

I see it more 6-0, 6-0
Straight sets for the Wobbles this year.

win
1. A miracle form reversal happens when Moore and Howe are placed up forward giving our forward line 3 good forwards instead of just Elliot and we concede that we need to tag the Neales, Dangerfields, Petracca, Cripps ect with our newfound shutdown tag master in TAY Adams( also helps that he won't be thus kicking the ball much)
2. Excellent coaching panel
3. See 1 and 2 above

Can't win
1. Because Melb,Port, Brisbane DOGS,Geelong and Carlton have better lists
2. Too many journeymen players
3. A forward line with only 1 reliable forward

For

1. Our forwardline
2. Our reliance on our top 5 players
3. Our finals experience over the last 2 years

Against

1. Our forwardline
2. Our reliance on our top 5 players
3. Our finals experience over the last 2 years

Jesus! Have faith. You have the best ruck by a country mile and a fairly young list all in the prime of their careers.
Furthermore, they are premiership players and know how to get it done.

I think its Lions and Dees to stand in the Pies way for the flag.

We need a MCG QF or is a case of straight sets.

Con

Its september last time Pies won a flag in September was 1958

Pro:

McRae and we have an improved list and been top since round 1

Reasons why:
1. Finally showing a balanced gameplan that stacks up against both run and pressure. System > Talent
2. For the first time in a long time the board and coaching panel are stable
3. Beating bogey sides and winning 7 in a row is very un-Carlton like

Reasons why not:
1. No finals experience as a squad
2. Contested football has a habit of falling apart in finals
3. Will have to win an away final, potentially at Adelaide Oval where we have never won a game

Agreed.
It looks obvious now, but wasn't all year imho, but Demons are best placed to win the flag, probably v Pies.
Luck, injuries, form- all ticks for Melbourne.

Cats-
We are not even in the 8
Reassess after rd 23

I’ve kinda checked out of footy this year (understandable) but reckon I’d be quite keen to watch a Pies vs Demons grand final.

Can't:
  • midfield one-paced, not skilful enough and our forward line is dysfunctional.
  • We only had one game plan, and when it got worked out, we have continuously been on the decline.
  • We are St Kilda. We are not designed or run to win Premierships.

Can:
  • Someone has to win one, and we remain in the Top 8 for now. So we are technically not out of the running yet. (Though I have not spoken to a single Saints fan who believes we will make the finals).
  • We would like to win one - I mean, it would be nice.
  • if three or four other teams have a horror day in the finals (e.g. kicking 16 points from straight in front instead of 16 goals), we are in with a chance.

Would love to see the Pies win it.
Was hot on Port.
Now it looks like Demons are peaking perfectly.

Saints

1- Steven Bradbury
2- RTB
3- best can beat most

1- Footy Gods
2- we have to beat plenty of much better sides
3- A general lack of leadership, nous and ability in the team
