Woodson

We have a controversy in AE, what will be forever known as DefaultGate.

"Default Gate" in AE14
Both Mattyt78 and Bjtoby lucked out this week. They selected Dallas, then selected a bunch of the later games. But they did not make selections for any of the games earlier than the Arizona vs Kansas City game....where almost all the away teams won. So, by the rules of the new Default System, they scored all of the points they got for the selections they made PLUS all the points they scored for the AWAY teams they neglected to make picks for. Bjtoby ended up with a score of 112 with 13 'correct' tips therefore, but the bigger controversy is that Mattyt78 lucked out even more having selected Dallas at 9 CR, thus giving him the HRS score for this week of 119 with 13 'correct' tips.

I haven't yet read the by-laws of the OP for the CR comp and the HRS comp, if you allow a person with partial absent picks to claim HRS. But seeing as the rules for CR state their score is allowed, then that creates a controversy with you having already/prematurely awarded Pedge7 with the HRS score (115).

So I need you to consult yourself and fill in the rest of the AE comp what your decision will be on this.

Also....there were adjusted scores for Quin_Stick and for PhillyCat...same deal as above, except they didn't fair so well.

Also....the four people who went completely awol all scored 70 from the Default System. (chris25, imation23, belikemike, marcus)

**100% No Show score is 70**

Extract from POST #210 reads: as discussed over the phone before season started: 4 minimum HOME teams selected.

HOWEVER.. the ND, LCS and HRS comps will not be compromised this season with 'NO SHOWS' that shall not be permitted to register a victory in theNEXT DUEL and LAST CHANCE SALOON comps if they score more than their scheduled opponents (who actually puts in the effort) without submitting up to FOUR HOME TEAM selections (changes from the road team default) which proves that 'a token effort' was made to submit your weekly picks.

Let's re-examine MattyT78's scorecard:

FYI: BjToby scored 112, QuinStick 45 and PhillyCat 86.

Cheers for all that Woodson

No issue. No show score is 70.

Dallas 1, Pittsburgh 2, Indianapolis 3, Houston 5, Baltimore 6, Carolina 8, Giants 9, St Louis 10, Seattle 11, New England 15

1+2+3+5+6+8+9+10+11+15 = 70

Edited for accuracy. Game was the furtherest EAST of the late games set, that's how I've been calculating all season long. Move along now.

Showdown.jpg

They couldn't be separated, Tannehill17 and SodaPop are heading to 3XKO Showdown VI.....who will take it out, the consistent Tannehill or the take no prisoners Sodapop.

Woodson right at this moment is gathering the 10 tips from each of our challengers. Tannehill will pick first because of his higher CR ranking and then Sodapop will take his turn. Once we have the tips they will be posted on this forum and clubhouse website.

We will have a winner this weekend, good luck to both.

They couldn't be separated, Tannehill17 and SodaPop are heading to 3XKO Showdown VI.....who will take it out, the consistent Tannehill or the take no prisoners Sodapop.

Woodson right at this moment is gathering the TEN Showdown teams from each of our challengers. Tannehill will pick first because of his higher CR ranking and then Sodapop will take his turn. Once we have the tips they will be posted on this forum and clubhouse website.

We will have a winner this weekend, good luck to both.

Here is the general breakdown of this years SHOWDOWN VI, as both are unavailable to get online to go LIVE, I've requested their WISH list of TEN teams to compile their FIVE SHOWDOWN selections. No same team can be selected by the other. SodaPop totally forgotten he was even in the first showdown.

To balance the alternating sequence, Tannehill17 who is higher on the CR standings has the option to 'Decline' the first pick in the order to skip ahead in selecting TEAM 3. So, as I await Tannehill17's decision, here is the order of pickings from their TEN TEAMS submitted which I received this afternoon.
1,3,6,8 & 10 as opposed to 2,4,5,7 & 9. They have agreed upon the 60/40 split.

Just to expand on the Tie-breakers:
1. MOST WINNERS SELECTED
2. COUNTBACK FROM 1 (1st pick vs 1st pick)
3. REPLAY SHOWDOWN in WEEK 16

WHO's READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL??

ND14play-offs_zpse6bae47b.jpg

AE14 SOCKS IT YA with the ND PLAy-OFFS!! NO PLACE for the FAINT HEARTED!! That means those who were too chicken s**t scared to compete.. this is why they play the 256 regular season games.. the NFL feeds it's energy and is driven to provide the entertainment for the AE folk who know they're in it to WIN it… no backward steps, every game has a trigger. Those who don't care …GET OUT!!

Moving along now.. we have FOUR RIB-BUSTING Backyard brawler match ups that are worth following this week..

ND14R2_BumpnGrind_zps0031ab70.jpg

The elder-statsmen of the AE have already faced each other once this season back in week 8 when Sven edged out Superfreak 89-87 courtesy of the NOR Saints 'Lights out' second half vs the Packers on SNF.

Superfreak has registered six triple digit scores this season vs Sven's four which stands to reason why Superfreak is ahead on the CR standings by 20pts / 2nd vs Eq7th.
Both shaped their Wildcard victories last week on the back of a TNF jumpstart with Sven
taking the initiative early with 9CR on the Cowboys form on the road and on grass remaining perfect. Ex-Bronco QB, Jay Cutler, unable to help out TCol, as the Bears late revival in the game wasn't enough in their 41-28 loss. Sven certainly got the reward for backing his beloved Vikings who needed OT against the Jets to snaffle 11CR. In the end, it was a margin of nine.. 98-89, which decided the contest as a dead rubber before MNF.
Superfreak snapped Smiths' undefeated streak in close contests with a 106-103 final score which happen to be the same margin difference after TNF but the reality is that it was a nine point differential in the Eagles-Seahawks game that allowed Superfreak's crucial 5CR on the defending SB champs to break the 61-61 deadlock after the early games.

Prediction: Superfreak 108-104

Woody Line : Superfreak -2.5pts

The CR standings indicates there is substantial 51pts difference between GeeCats09 (9th) and Manureid (29th) but it's worth noting that Manureid has knocked up back to back double digit scores in the past fortnight meaning Manureid is peaking at the right time and his TNF jumpstart last week (10CR vs 2CR) on the Cowboys also dictated terms early to force Sodapop to reach for upsets late in the contest but Manureid didn't relent and bounded away to register the biggest play-off margin of victory by 43 points. Funnily enough, the same number also worn by the division honouree (Troy Polamalu) from which Manureid claimed his first ND title with. Statement wins start during the play-offs and GeeCats07 also claimed not ONE but TWO statement victories of his own, taking down CR#1 Bloods33 & CR#2 TCol in the ND WildCard Round and LCS R3.

It was as good as it gets for GeeCats07 who pipped 11SJW in the final week of the ND regular season to claim the Dwight Freeney Division title. This is one heck of a contest between TWO worthy ND title contenders flexing their muscle at the right time of the season but unfortunately.. one will get a chance of attaining AE immortality.

Prediction: GeeCats07 113-108

Woody Line: GeeCats07 -1.5pts

ND14r2_AxismilesvsPrimetimePry_zpsf224ff7e.jpg

The colourful intensity shared by these feisty foes who meet for the first time is something to marvel. AxisMiles03 has reached the pinnacle of the CR standings on five occasions this season without breaking out to an extensive lead (seven points in wk 7) whilst Primetime Pricey needed to break his way into the play-offs via the WCQ after unable to hold out Albertonrob for the Clay Matthews Division title. However, it's been his recent form that has exploded.. three consecutive weeks of blowing his opponents out by 30+pts that will keep AxisMiles03 honest. The secret to Primetime's rampaging success has been his aggressive starts on TNF selections and it will test Primetime Pricey if he is on the receiving end of a 16CR hitting the wall (edit: Rams just stained the bed and Primetime Pricey isn't smiling). AxisMiles03 recently dropped a stinker week to bundle him out of the TOP TEN but a gritty fightback to overcome JeffDunne who imploded from a favourable position last week, allowing AxisMiles03 a gifted 96-73 victory. Santa Dunne smoked himself by dropping 24 total CR points down the Chargers chimney stack in their home loss to the Pats (9CR) and lumping 15CR on the Falcons (fire) in their trip to the chilly Lambeau.

Prediction: AxisMiles03 107- 92

Woody Line : AxisMiles03 -11.5pts

ND14R2_Crowman23vsChism_zps17676ab9.jpg

@Crowman23 needed to await the conclusion of MNF as hardcore Packers fan, fuey was forced to throw his remaining 16CR on the Falcons to try conjure an improbable upset which was tested in the second half for the Packers who managed to hold off a plucky Falcons by six (43-37) after leading 31-7 at HT. Chism on the other hand, was grateful the Patriots broke their shackles in the last quarter with big plays to come from behind to register a 23-14 victory @ San Diego which allowed Chism to clinch victory by securing the crucial 10CR on the Pats to squeak past Albertonrob by one point (72-71) before MNF arrived which left Albertonrob with a helpless 16CR which couldn't help him compete with Chism's LOCKSMITH 15CR to seal victory on the back of a tiebreaker of most winners (10-8).

Chism is relishing the underdog tag in play-offs with his third victory from four starts. The defending CR Champ, CROWMAN23, is ahead by 79pts on the CR standings (5th vs 33rd) meaning Chism is a huge chance to push for another upset victory #4 but it's gonna take some strategic selections to get over the line as the upsets will not stop at one.

Prediction: Chism 111-110

Woody Line : Crowman23 -3.5pts

twarby (the man who never loses, and has online betting agencies banning him for always winning) probably lost a bit of money the last few weeks.....hence his noticeable absence of late.
my absense is due to being out of the running for all comps and your crappy mob delivered big last week for me anyway which you already know

keep slugging away at your 9 to 5
