All-Australian Team 2014....

Wingard had a poor season.

Granted his disposals was well down on 2013 but in front of goals was only 1 goal off last year (42 v 43) and he actually had more scoring shots in 2014 than 2013. Laid more tackles in 2014 and his goal assists tally was higher. If the player was going to be a mid/ fwd than Wingard gets the gig, because the selection criteria was small forward Ballantyne steals it

Oh well, gives them some extra motivation over the offseason.

Didnt watch the broadcast, was there any commentary surrounding why certain players were picked, or conversely any debate amongst a panel looking at those overlooked. I cant fathom any reason for Rance being ahead of Emac, especially after missing 6 games. Absolute horrible decision.

Why don't they make the criteria simpler. They pull names out of the hat and attempt to afford it justification, when they should simply pick the side that is most likely to win games.

Campaigners AA Side:

Backs: Cale Hooker (Essendon), Daniel Talia (Adelaide) and Nick Smith (Sydney Swans)

Half-backs: Nick Malceski (Sydney Swans), Alex Rance (Richmond), Brodie Smith (Adelaide)

Centres: Nat Fyfe (Fremantle), Josh Kennedy (Sydney Swans), Dyson Heppell (Essendon)

Half-forwards: Robbie Gray (Port Adelaide), Nick Riewoldt (St Kilda), Luke Breust (Hawthorn)

Forwards: Hayden Ballantyne (Fremantle), Lance Franklin (Sydney Swans), Jarryd Roughead (Hawthorn)

Rucks: Aaron Sandilands (Fremantle), Joel Selwood (Geelong), Gary Ablett (Gold Coast)

Interchange: Jordan Lewis (Hawthorn), Scott Pendlebury (Collingwood), Travis Boak (Port Adelaide), Tom Rockliff (Brisbane Lions)

Vs

EH Victorious AA side.

Backs: Cale Hooker (Essendon), Eric Mackenzie (West Coast) and Nick Smith (Sydney Swans)

Half-backs: Nick Malceski (Sydney Swans), Daniel Talia (Adelaide), Brodie Smith (Adelaide)

Centres: Jordan Lewis (Hawthorn), Josh Kennedy (Sydney Swans), Dyson Heppell (Essendon)

Half-forwards: Gary Ablett (Gold Coast), Jarryd Roughead (Hawthorn), Lance Franklin (Sydney Swans),

Forwards: Robbie Gray (Port Adelaide), Tom Hawkins (Geelong), Luke Breust (Hawthorn)

Rucks: Aaron Sandilands (Fremantle), Joel Selwood (Geelong), Nat Fyfe (Fremantle)

Interchange:, Scott Pendlebury (Collingwood), Travis Boak (Port Adelaide), Tom Rockliff (Brisbane Lions), Luke Parker (Sydney Swans)

Mackenzie v Riewoldt - Mackenzie has the wood on Roo, has the pace and endurance to go with him and shut him down.

Tom Hawkins v KPD - With Roughead in the side adding Hawkins just creates massive headaches, can be played deeper where he'll expose any of those KPD's for a size and strength. Will also make life for Franklin easier, where as Riewoldt will cover similar areas.

Ballantyne Out for Parker . Frodo is not needed. With Gray and Breust there is a lot of ground level coverage, with the midfielders selected you can afford to move Ablett forward for long stints, and id rather him there than Ballas.

RE: Luke Parker - Plays on Fyfe and pastes him... ;) Hard at it, can play off the forward flank if need be and still impact the contest greatly.

EH AA Team by 43 points.

Richo was a selector. Says it all really.

Rough on MacKenzie. The only time I saw Talia play was against WC where he copped the knock to the head. From memory, he didn't look like an AA that day even before he got hit. It looked like JK was going to have a day out.
He copped a knock to the head so you really never know and I don't care if you thought JK would have a day out.

What a ******* disgrace that emac was left out.

Victorian campaigners no doubt.

Priddis not in the side....hahahahahahah

They said it was because of Mackenzie's 39 goals against.
Proving that they have watched little to no West Coast this year.

And obviously Rance was going to have less goals scored against him when Rance played like six less games and against the Saints, Suns and Giants a few times :$

What absolute garbage, thats not even 2 a game. Had to be done on averages given that pretty boy Rance missed 6 games. Just proves the whole process is a farce.

Look at all of these purple campaigners on Facebook start up with the 'it was 39 goals to 23, stats don't lie' crap.

SMFH. I hate the AFL.

For someone to make the team missing over 5 games they would have to be well above their competition. Like Ablett. Rances inclusion is just strange considering its so even between the key defenders.

Mackenzie was stiff.

Priddis nah, mainly because he can ONLY play rover. You can move Selwood, Boak, Ablett or Pendlebury around the ground(forward) and they will still do well.
