Yep. We aren't winning this.

As soon as they play half decent football they cut us open.
It's nearly all about the center clearance. I can only remember 1 successful transition of the ball, the rest of the qtr was team that wins the ball from the middle keeps it forward till they score.

Our backline is so bad, just completely unable to stop scoring or counter attack.

Classic.

Marshall misses a sitter to deny us a 5 goal lead.

Farrell loses two identical marking contests.

Then we do our best successfully to concede two goals in the last 60s. Thanks Aliir and Jonas.

And we wonder why we lose close ones.

Mood switched from “battling underdog nobody expects anything from today” to “sh¡t, if we keep this up people will expect us to actually go through with it”.

Clockwork.

So is the 2nd quarter where we completely get smashed and are somehow 40 points down?
That last three minutes from Marshall’s setshot miss onwards highlights our complete lack of killer instinct. We not only allowed them to stay in it, we gave them an enormous injection of momentum going into the break.

All we needed was for three players to execute their best skill properly:
1. Marshall convert a simple shot on goal.
2. Aliir hold a simple mark.
3. Jonas stay in the contest and spoil.

Farrell as a defender experiment is garbage and needs to stop immediately
He was a defender as a junior (only went forward when we drafted him) so he’s hardly new to the position

But as I said recently about moving lord back

When a players finding their feet, don’t yank the rug out from under them.

It should be common sense that the odds that it unleashes their potential is low, but the odds it stalls their development is high.

It’s a dumb risk to take with a player who is improving.

Instead it’s the kind of risk you take with a player like Frederick, or Williams, whose careers are stalling and it’s worthwhile trying something new otherwise they’re headed for the scrap heap anyway.

We have idiots running the joint.
