Apologies if it has been covered previously, but I'm wondering how the AFL will fixture the bye into next year. Pressuming the competition will remain at or around 22 games, some teams will get two byes for the year whilst others will only get one. Will the AFL give the team with the week off 4 points like in the VFL, thus giving them an advantage over the teams with just the one bye, or will the bye teams get no points in their week off, thus disadvantaging teams with two?

I'm not definite but i presume some weeks 3 teams will have a bye. They do this in the SANFL i think

I Imagine there will be 6 rounds in the season whereby 3 teams have the bye.

So each team over the course of the season has 2 byes.

6x3 + 16 = 34. Therefore 2x17 byes.

5 rounds x 3 byes
19 rounds x bye

24 rounds = 22 games each team
No split round, season start one week earlier than usual

Lock it in Eddie!
