think maybe it was Irish…. But I swear I always called them drop scones. Think I only heard the word pikelets three decades ago.
At some stage I thought Pikelets were a gross fish cake.

Drop scones perfectly describes what you do when you drop batter in from the ladle.
I love the old Irish description for Polenta - “Stir About”, which of course is what you have to do.

Drop scones remembered from the UK as a kid. Pikelets is Kiwi I thought ?
Love it , but love Sam Pang , Albert Park , never ask for flake at a restaurant, love toasties with just tasty cheese and can i put the name potato scallops on ignore
