I know it's only their first game, and I do expect the Suns to improve, but at some point this season I think there is the potential for some records to fall:

Highest Score: Geelong 37.17 - 239 v Brisbane Bears in 1992
(To make top 10 have to outscore Fitzroy's 34.16 v NM in 1983)

Greatest Winning Margin: 190 points Fitzroy v Melbourne 1979
(10th best: 160 points Hawthorn v Essendon in 1992)

Most Goals: 37 to Geelong (see highest score)
(10th best: 34 to Richmond v St.Kilda in 1980)

Most scoring shots: 66 to Hawthorn (25.41 - 191) v St.Kilda in 1977
(10th best: 54 scoring by eight teams)

Think what a rampant Collingwood or Geelong could do to the Suns!

Checked their fixture, lucky for them only two games at the dome.

Dogs next week and the bombers in round 6. Collingwood at the dome would have been brutal.

What's the record for the number of players getting 30+ possessions in a game

Carlton have 10 players above 20 already

Dogs will break 200 at the Dome next week. Barry could even give 18 a nudge.

If they arn't broken this year they should be smashed next year.

I cant see GWS putting together better names then the GC have :(

GWS will pick a lot of guys from the state leagues, who whilst not as talented as other players, due to being men will not get pushed around as easily.

None will be broken because teams will start resting players against them.

Unfortunately this will be the case. Teams may take it easy, however i'm not so sure Collingwood will. I have watched the pies a little more closely lately and i dont think they care who they play. Thay will belt everyone in sight. I hate talking the pies up but geeeeeez, lets hope for an off day in september.

Wonder what Andy D's reaction is to the first of his babies to come in to the comp

Am glad they come to Subi at any rate

Wonder who will be the first team to lose to them?

Out of the 4 newest teams (West Coast, Adeliade, Fremantle, Port Adelaide) - the minimum amount of games they've won in their first season 8 is

Adelaide and West Coast both had big victories at home for their first games, whereas unfortunately for us and Port Adelaide we played away in our first games (both at the MCG) and we both lost

Both ourselves and Port Adelaide lost our first home games to Essendon and won both our first home games to Geelong

By the looks of the result though, Gold Coast will struggle early on

Gold Coast have already broken one record.

Richmond, 1908 - 11 point win.
University, 1908 - 66 point loss.
Footscray, 1925 - 9 point loss.
Hawthorn, 1925 - 39 point loss.
North Melbourne, 1925 - 8 point win.
Sydney Swans, 1982 - 29 point win.
Brisbane Bears, 1987 - 33 point win.
West Coast Eagles, 1987 - 14 point win.
Adelaide, 1991 - 86 point win.
Fremantle, 1995 - 5 point loss.
Brisbane Lions, 1997 - 36 point loss.
Port Adelaide, 1997 - 79 point loss.

The Gold Coast Suns hold the record for the worst debut in VFL/AFL history.

Carlton took their foot of the pedal after qtr time yet still won by 20 goals, if teams actually try to boost their percentage against the suns it could get very very ugly. Collingwood should beat them by 200 points

Collingwood could play without Swan, Pendles, Thomas, Cloke, Dawes, Shaw and Tarrant and still win by more than 10 goals.
