Ken mentioned "Faith/Trust in players" in his post game presser. Where was it when he sent Ah Chee straight back to the Magoos for no obvious reason? It's easy to drop players who are on the periphery of selection each week eg. Young, Neade, Moore, Mitchell, Ah Chee etc because of indifferent form, but the same set of rules also need to be applied to the rest of the group.

If you can't get the selections/player management right then give it over to someone who can.

In, Moore young ahchee Stewart Neade palmer

Out, anyone who had a sidestep or dropped their head in a marking contest, anyone whose form has been down for weeks, anyone not named boak r gray wingard Hombsh Ebert Carlisle lobbe or Ryder. The rest can gtfo

That was a pretty worrying comment as it all but confirms Ken is similar to Choco & has his gold pass favourites that will get picked or retain their spots regardless of fitness/form.

Broadbent was the example & Mitchell was deservedly dropped but Jonas, Westhoff & White have kept their spots despite having absolute shocking seasons & an average rookie like Gray being brought in ahead of Young, Moore, Ah Chee & Stewart is ridiculous when we're crying out for more strength in the midfield.

Not only would Newton be getting a game in this midfield minus Polec/Wines but i'm guessing he'll probably cut us up & be one of the Dees best this weekend.

Bit hard putting a team together this week. Have little faith in the players. Broadbent, Hartlett and White all lucky.

In: Ah Chee, Broadbent, Moore, Neade, Stewart, Young
Out: Cornes, S.Gray, Jonas, Krakouer, Trengove, Westhoff

B: Paul Stewart ~ Alipate Carlile ~ Jarman Impey
HB: Matthew Broadbent ~ Jack Hombsch ~ Jasper Pittard
C: Matthew White ~ Brad Ebert ~ Hamish Hartlett
HF: Robbie Gray ~ Patrick Ryder ~ Chad Wingard
F: Jake Neade ~ Jay Schulz ~ Angus Monfries
R: Matthew Lobbe ~ Travis Boak ~ Oliver Wines

Int: Aaron Young ~ Andrew Moore ~ Karl Amon ~ Brendon Ah Chee

Emg: Nathan Krakouer ~ Justin Westhoff ~ Thomas Jonas

It will not make any difference who we bring in, if our forward structures remain the same, if there is any atm. Work rate also has to lift. Could be that last year the players knew, they had to help Lobbe as the lone ruckman and with the inclusion of Ryder their work rate has dipped a little, thinking Ryder was going to fix it all. I still think we are 4 -5 good solid AFL players short.

Broadbent was the scapegoat & Mitchell was deservedly dropped but Jonas, Westhoff & White have kept their spots despite having absolute shocking seasons & an average rookie like Gray being brought in ahead of Young, Moore, Ah Chee & Stewart is ridiculous when we're crying out for more strength in the midfield.

Of course you back the players that have credits in. At 3 and 2 we looked great I had no problems with how we were going. We had our chances to beat Freo and a bad game against the Swans but that can happen and still happy to back the players in. 3 weeks in a row of watching the same game losing its over. We have seen this pattern before credits are out. Ken would want to be making that clear.

Look we have the cattle to be a contender, we have already proven that. What we need now is some tinkering with the game plan and an injection of confidence. A big part of our current predicament is lack of confidence and a willingness to take the game on. It is not the end of the world and we will come back better for this experience.

What if we play a small forward line and put Lobbe and Ryder on either side of the 50 arc for the defensive kick out, we just seem to be having trouble marking coming out of the back 50 at the minute (even if we hit a target)...

It won't happen but from a team structure point of view there is a compelling case to be made for dropping Lobbe and going with Ryder as sole ruck.

I hear your thinking but Lobbe is a pressure freak! Lead the tackles (10) and hitouts (29) for the game yesterday (Port and Tigers players)
