Everything Off-Season in Domestic Cricket

Maxwell expressed interest in switching states during the recent Sri Lanka tour after his dumping from the ODI team and message from the selectors that he needs to develop more consistency as a batsman.

The 27-year-old figured a move to NSW could help address the issues, but the Bushrangers enforced a clause in Maxwell’s contract that would keep him in the south.

All Cricket Australia contracted players have a six-week window from July 1 to nominate which state side they’ll play for, and Maxwell missed his chance to move.

"Glenn is an integral member of the Bushrangers squad," a Cricket Victoria spokesman said.

"We'll be working closely with Glenn this season to help him achieve his targets and ensure he is operating at a level to be consistently in contention for Australian selection."
