Bit Late to the party to post this in time for tonight's match but figured I'd post this here as a reminder that matches are been streamed on Kayo and YouTube from tonight. Plenty of state and BBL contracted Qld players and interstate players involved this year so should be good to have a bit of televised cricket with some quality players involved over the next few weeks before the Shield kicks off.

Fixtures, scorecards and youtube links can be found here

Good opening game - great to see big Billy Stanlake back and bowling again. Enjoyable Kayo coverage with ex-Kiwi international Hamish Bennett on commentary. Some eye-catching efforts from the NSW left-hander Dylan Hunter (88) at the top of the Souths order, their' keeper Brendan Faber was tidy and for Gold Coast, Xavier Bartlett (67) looks like he is keen to keep developing as an allrounder. He isn't bowling yet it seems - precautionary with his back by the sound of it. Souths won pretty comfortably in the end. And yes, Claye Beams (ex-Lions) whacked a few at the end for Souths. Girls on tonight on Kayo - Uni against Valley with a few WBBL and internationals in the line-ups.

Hamish Bennett pointed out at the start of the coverage that Dylan has made the move across the ditch to play FC cricket for Canterbury this Summer, has dual citizenship and isn't ruling out playing for the black caps one day if the opportunity arises according to this article.

Yeh, I thought Faber looked very impressive with both bat and gloves, big opportunity this grade season for any young Qld keeper bat to step up considering we haven't had a reserve keeper contracted by the Bulls for a few seasons now.

Gabe Bell (3-15) for Sandgate-Redcliffe
Scott Rodgie (3-15, 3-26) for Norths

Might have missed a few other results - it seems fairly even as you would expect – line-ups are changing a bit as players become available or not. Several team scores above 200, so batting has been to the fore.

Haven't checked the women's results yet although there was a hat-trick by a Wynnum bowler (Holly Barr) I noticed.

Impressive numbers for Bartlett with the stick, he always looks capable whenever I see him bat.
Unfortunately seems like he might have a niggle seeing as he hasn't been bowling. Hopefully Qld cricket are just managing him before the shield and one day cup kick off

Watched some of the highlights of Jake Winter (ex Aust U19, SA player) on social media - 16 sixes for Sandgate-Redcliffe against Wests in their T20 Max game on the weekend, knock of 133 from 54 balls. Hitting them like Josh Brown! Finals this week - top four is Ipswich, Gold Coast, Norths and Toombul - interesting to see what the line-ups end up like.
