long contract for Mckay, surprised they would give him a 4 year deal. Didnt think he was that calibre of player, or did they just get the yearly rate down by giving an extra year.

A lot of whinging about Mick and the club if Waite owns White, Rowe, Watson or Giles next year.

He hasn't "owned" anyone over his whole career so it's highly unlikely it will start happening now. Unless of course you are expecting him to treat us to his annual three Brownlow votes belter that makes naïve people believe he plays like every week.

Just because of his injuries and poor on field conduct and demeanor, doesn't mean he isn't a very good player. Its the constant interruptions in his playing that hinders him. Had at least a couple of massive games last year from memory, and kicked a few handfuls the year before.

If we have nothing incoming in the tall forward stakes then that is absolutely the case. He becomes a little more expendable should we pull off a big trade somewhere though. Be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Athletic talls who take strong contested marks and kick goals don't grow on trees hey

The prosecution rests your honour !!

If I was the club I would be offering him a 1 year deal with the option of a second year dependent on some which clauses such as games played. Like Mick said yesterday, Jarrad is a proud Carlton person and to be a one club player like his dad would be something that would weigh heavily.

North have gone from a team with numerous key forward options to just Petrie and Lindsay Louganis-Thomas and looking for a quick fix. Maybe we aren't the only club that can't develop players.
