Lucy Pinder Most Determined Award
This award goes to a player who regardless of how the team performed he continued to put his hand up and provide an option for us and even though opportunities where limited, he made the most out of these limited opportunities that presented themselves.

A loyal player who has resisted the temptation to play at another club. I am hoping he accepts an on ball or centre line challenge next season as he deserves it with his activity levels.

DREAM TEAM BUFF

Captains Award
This award goes to a player who always puts the team first and is happy playing a secondary role even when their contribution deserves a more prominent part. This player is a consistent performer in match threads and around the boards and has been for a few years now. A person that has helped me see both sides of a story on many occasions and a player who is loyal to our club even if they are often being chased by others. A selfless player who thoroughly deserves this recognition and a player who's peers can look up to.

Round 11

Dragons Fantasy Football Club : 15.11.101
Geelong Wolves : 11.5.71

Playing one of the top sides of the competition is never easy particularly at their home ground. We battled hard and hung in there but again fell short. Another poor start and another game that we had to play catch up football took its toll on our bodies and legs yet again. We still needed to start games better than this if we were going to get on a winning streak and make finals.

This game also marked a milestone for former club Captain peterss who broke the games record at the club.

Wet conditions did not allow for large stats but we had several players who dug deep and worked hard.

Tayl0r collected 15 disposals and took 8 marks at CHB, A Bit High had a season high 20 possessions and 7 marks gaining team high 85 DT points. TN25 had 17 touches as did TurtleMaster and SM and Willo_ gathered 16 disposals.

We needed to get back to winning ways very quickly or finals would mathematically slip away.

Round 12

Geelong Wolves : 13.21.99
Baghdad Bandits : 13.10.88

This is the sort of display that we had wanted since the early rounds of the season.

We started well, kept our nerve and recorded a vital win to keep our finals hopes well and truly alive. If it were not for our inaccuracy the game would have been over long before the final siren.

Players from all over the ground put their hands up in a solid team effort.

DREAM TEAM BUFF was fantastic with 6 goals and was now a big chance for his first ALFIE. Our Half Back line of Spanna65, Bucketss and A Bit High picked up 31 kicks, 30 marks and 25 handballs between them in a powerful display. yyou continued his impressive first season and had 22 possessions. The switch back into the Centre worked wonders for Tayl0r as she gathered 19 touches and took 10 marks. TurtleMaster impressed on the wing with 21 touches. Hatchy1992 won the rucks and collected 19 disposals along the way with his 14 HO's. Willo_ had 13 and kicked 2 goals. Hawthorn United kicked 3 goals, and SM had 17 touches and layed 5 tackles and collected 6 frees for his troubles while manboob had 16 touches and Cooksen 13 to help us get the win we desperately needed.

Round 13

Geelong Wolves : 20.16.136
Gold City Royals : 18.12.120

This was a bloody great win against one of the top sides of the SFA. Our start was outstanding and each time they challenged us we rose to it...and boy they came at us several times but we stood strong. A ripping effort and one that the club were proud of.

We had many outstanding performances. Our midfield was fantastic led by our ruck man Hatchy1992 who had 28 touches to go with his 17 HO's. SM was fantastic with 33 possessions. @Will0_ was back to his best with 20 damaging touches and all this made life for our forwards so much easier and didn't they respond. DREAM TEAM BUFF was magnificent with 7 goals. typeclub was dangerous with 4 and Hawthorn United chipped in with 2 vital goals. TurtleMaster across HB was inspirational with 21 touches, Cooksen was superb with 24 touches and Tayl0r was busy with 19.

All in all it was a terrific team effort with our lowest DT score being 25 points. This was truly a win we can build on and there was several teams not wanting to play is come finals if we perform to this standard.

So with 2 Rounds to go 4 players can still win the big one. SM & Willo_ look the likely but Hatchy1992 & yyou have enough votes left to claim the Catman Award....Such excitement in the room!!!

Willo_

Willo_ came to the club via a post on the Geelong Cats Club Board by ClarkeM inviting players to the SFA. I followed up Clarkeys post with a post specifically about our club to which Willo_ responded.

He quickly established himself as a club and SFA favourite who was an instant hit On & Off the field.

A player who already has shown tremendous leadership qualities this future SFA Super Star is a player the club can build itself around and one that I am very pleased to have as a team mate.

Congratulations Willo_ and well deserved

Round 14

West Coast Wonders : 12.11.83
Geelong Wolves : 11.5.71

We started well enough and took a lead into 1/4 time but allowed the bottom side of the competition to kick 6 goals to 3 in the second term to take control of the game and while we challenged we could never hit the lead to push onto victory. We eventually went down by 12 points and with that, our S19 finals aspirations.

Conditions were not conducive to high stats and voting for club awards was difficult...in fact our highest DT score was 65 which happened to be a game high also by yyou.

The most disappointing part was as a collective group in muddy conditions we only had 11 tackles.

WOLF OF THE WEEK was yyou

SM pulls out a 2nd best on ground while Willo_ struggles and does not poll leaving SM in the drivers seat.

So with the last round to come Willo_ needs a BOG and must have SM not poll to have us with joint winners.

Round 15

Fighting Furies : 16.9.105
Geelong Wolves : 15.6.96

Finally we get the start we wanted but could not close the deal to go down in a close one by 9 points.

A tough season to look back on and when you consider we were 3-1 after 4 rounds the wheels well and truly fell off and we never recovered.

Congratulations to DREAM TEAM BUFF who bagged 5 goals to take out the ALF ANDREWS for Leagues Leading Goalkicker. A fantastic achievement considering how poor we were at many stages during the season.

Several players put in a terrific efforts grimlock produced more touches in one game than actual posts all season with 27, SM continued his consistent season with 18, Spanna65 also will performed well with 18, TurtleMaster continued his fine return with 19 while Willo_ collected 18 and Hawthorn United collected 17.
