Agree with OP. Was born, or acquired at a young age, a huge empathy for people (as in, the downtrodden, unfortunate, suffering, ugly, deformed, poor, abused, etc people) and it made me hate the world, life.

I feel for them being so needy and not able to be honest about it....

Wait. Maybe I have less empathy than I thought.
What I do know, is too many humans are pieces of s**t, and the number grows everyday.

I had close to zero when I was younger, things have changed since I became a father at 36 years of age 18 years ago. I still have my moments.

Of my two daughters, the eldest is a lot like me in regards to empathy, the younger probably has too much and I worry about her, she has a big heart and people are by and large campaigners.

I was born with too much apathy and it's hard to shake.
Not that I've really tried.
