There would be plenty of people who fought on opposite sides of the war but have friends who served on the other side. That would extend to those that committed war crimes whether that be on the allied or axis side.

There has to be a statute of limitations otherwise, like Israel, people can't move on.

To suggest there should be a statute on genocide is ludicrous.

people don't commit genocide, they commit crimes. together added up they may contribute to what is genocide which by definition must be a crime limited to those in charge or make decisions.

so for most "punks" a statute of limitations is reasonable.
