GWS made out like bandits.

For essentially downgrading their second rounder to a higher second rounder (7 picks higher), the downgraded their second round pick 8 slots into a mid first rounder.

The rest of the league knows we have nothing to bargain with, and are circling like vultures.

We do, however, have a big chunk of leftover salary cap to play with next season, so hopefully certain clubs might find themselves on the other end of a targeted raid 12 months from now.

Maybe not, but say if we offered a player from a particular club a higher than market value salary, they might turn around to their own club and demand that to stick around.

I think there's a perception that we're too weak to retaliate in any meaningful way. It might be true, but it might not be twelve months from now.
