I don't think it's massive at all, maybe for Richmond. Soldo is hardly a needle mover.

Port paid overs IMO for a decent ruckman who's had injury question marks, that's about it really...

A decent ruckman is what we need.
Lycett was finished for the last 2 years. We stop gapped with Dixon and Finlayson at times.

He's a player Richmond have targeted who had a contract in front of him. Imagine how Richmond would behave if Hawthorn targeted Richmond's Ryan because he played a swag of games in the VFL - it would be a couple of Ist rounders.

Not a huge fan of Soldo, but he fills a need for Port and should play a fair bit of senior footy over the next few years.

Great deal for Richmond. Sure he was contracted but they did the right thing moving him on, they didn't need him and they have cashed in by finding a trade partner somewhat desperate to get the deal done.

Replacing him with a few picks is a really, really good move.

Ryan is contracted is again a key difference and no, the expectation would never be a first or 2 firsts for him if he did ask for a trade.

This trade shows how bad Port needed a ruck, and how little they rate this and next years drafts.

I’m saying that Soldo will do well for them.
Give their gun mids first crack at the clearance and it could get them a step closer to a grand final.

Could end up well for them.
