What do Essendon stand for as a club? What is their culture, fanbase, what makes them unique?

The money men who want to use the club as their plaything still have way too much pull. Every club obviously needs rich supporters putting in money, but they can’t be pulling the strings. A good positive break with that was made with the Scott appointment but there’s still obviously issues.

At the moment they’ve got a proxy on the board in Sheedy and their man in Dodoro in the footy department.

We’ve still got a long way to go on all fronts but Sayers telling Mathieson to * off in front of everyone was most positive thing that could’ve happened for so many people at the club. The main interfering money family were put in their place.

I reckon they need a public * off moment with Sheedy, symbolic more than anything that the people funding his crusade aren’t going to influence anything anymore in the footy department. It’ll be humiliating for him but it has to be done.

People won’t feel like the knife is constantly hovering behind their back and they’ll do whatever they do with a lot more freedom.

I reckon Essendon chairing off 132 game player, Anthony McDonald Tipungwuti, pretty much sums up the Bombers at the moment.

All ceremony and talk - no substance. Seriously 132 games ??
