Must be a real treat to have an academy.

I mean, father-son is one thing, and largely luck, but having the ability to effectively comb a massive region for talent at a young age, then stick them in a program for several years, then draft them on the cheap is pretty good. Blokes come in knowing the game plan, what their roles are, and with developed bodies.

Full credit to Sydney for keeping these blokes in AFL I suppose, but wow is it a leg up.

Ranked 5th after the season. Rankings are after the finals, luckily...almost certain on this as Freo went out straight sets and got the draw from heaven too.

Then blame the people who changed the rules. There wasn't a need to change the rules, but if one was changed the other had to. No issue. If clubs want a Academy of FS they will get them.

Unrelated (nice deflection by the way ) but Hawthorn has been doing what the Swans have done over the last 20 years for 60 years or more...but with considerably more success (12 flags and 19 GF's in 55 years and all that)

Also we benefit like Freo did this year from an easier draw next year. Not having to play Hawthorn/WC/Freo/North twice is a good thing. Our injury list was the size of the Grand Canyon this season. Every time we would get close to having a ide, another 2 go down. Was just one of those years unfortunately. Heeney in the middle, Callum Mills in next year. That is some fresh youth straight away. James Rose looks promising (will learn a lot fro his prelim).

Won't the draw be of similar difficulty (given that you are classed still as top 6)? Although you could luck out like we did this year; even though we have spudded up the gift draw we got.

Was mistaken, thought it was groups of 4, found out it was groups of 6. Hope we get an easier draw.
