no one has 18 active posters.
Several clubs claimed they did in recent seasons.

i dont know of anyone who wants to be played from the bench
Can I introduce you to Headless? Headless seems to think interchange is a specialist position.

if you get more than 4 posters banned in one week. then you deserve to lose 4 points for the week.
TIF. Shoot me. I'm agreeing with Garfield.

in terms of engagement on this board. as a whole. the bombers do it right. their match threads are huge. their culture is so toxic its amazing. it works well for them. theyre a tight group. they go into war for eachother. god forbid you speak ill of a bomber. youll have 5 posters screaming back at you. and dont even bother trying to disagree with a bomber either as another 10 will come in and back the bombers opinion.
Fair and valid points. What if I suggested this was bad for the league overall? Sure, those 5 Bombers are having fun, but there's 10 others quietly losing interest because one club's spam and cronyism just simply turns them away from the board. That's a net loss.

Despite having some of our next generation leadership poached, our garden is perfectly tended - we're one of the lucky ones.

I'm not so sure about a some of the rest of the clubs in the league.

As for the last bit, there's not a lot in there that I'd agree with. But it is what it is for now - we have to figure out how to progress.
I don't know of a way you can solve this problem. You fix one club, another weakens.

I am interested in your little project and what fleshes out. I can't remember a time in the league, since S23, when there hasn't been a number of struggling clubs. The Gumbies were perennially in dire straits, with a revolving door of people trying to revive the place. Barrybran has done a sterling job there. The Wonders were pretty much cast when I joined in S25. Dingster came in and steadied the ship well. I'm not a fan of the current bunch but they're travelling fine. There are different clubs under the kosh now.

But no matter if we cull a team or add a team, there will always, always be stragglers.

My 'little' project is aimed at giving a fair evaluation on the health of the league, so doubtless it will be valuable for everyone.

We all have assumptions about what it might turn up, but the data will help give a picture of how things are looking.

so the current admin thought it would be a good idea to increase squad sizes? did i read that right? no one has 18 active posters. and i dont know of anyone who wants to be played from the bench. so why do we have squad sizes more than 22? i dont get it. even with 22 youre left with 4 legacy posters on your bench for when dumb people like myself get banned. if you get more than 4 posters banned in one week. then you deserve to lose 4 points for the week.

i go and troll and piss around on bears and warriors threads as a brand new rookie. and i did it alone. now im here appearing to have a go at the committee and again im doing it alone. im sure if i was a bomber my opinion would be at least 4 times louder.

i hope that answers your question mr 93. or at least partly. because to some others my opinions dont even deserve a response..
I like a 22 man squad for functionality and the ability for most of the players to play and rotate a small group of 2 through the interchange. At the end of the day squad size isn't an issue, you could make it a 100 squad size, its still only 20 people who can be named on the field. The issue is teams that don't have an active 20 players in there squads, the minimum team number you can play.

Several teams have 6-8 active posters and happy to sit on a list of names and not try and turn over the list to increase activity, or they try to recruit but are not good at it. As you say the Bombers are a united group with great buy in to the brand, this is not through luck but vision and hard work by a number of that team. OOB are now a strong side and getting stronger with the inclusion of active posters to replace inactive posters. For the SFA to get stronger, better, GROW all that is needed is for team LG's to be proactive and put in some effort to make their club better, stronger more fun. However this will not be the case, and many will be happy to plod along and stay same old same old and be happy to throw stones at others, and that's good because if we all had the same flavor this place would soon become very boring.

Personally I don't think there is a problem, covid now that was a problem, not sitting down to the table when Mrs Turbo has cooked a nice dinner that's going to be a problem, in the land of Sweet there are no problems just some who see half empty glasses and some who see half full glasses. Or in the case of the Bombers and the Old Boys overflowing glasses ;)

I have checked that data you refer and you are correct ...
I see that most clubs appear to be travelling along , well mostly OK

But the OOB's appear to be sky rocketing the SFA world Since S34

I am sure manangatang will add this detailed chart you have developed Mrs Turbo to his project, in fact you might get a thankyou for saving him from making an error in his conclusion if he hadn't seen this.

What if I suggested we couldn't give a s**t.

theres an ignore button for that mr 93.. ask Dinsdale ... he uses it well
That's not something that should be necessary for someone to maintain interest int he league. If they're doing that they're pretty well anchored already and not the type of players I'm referring to above.

I'm a long-termer; I've liberally used the button to ignore trash posters when necessary. Most have been Bombers. But then dickheads like Wayneo become committee members and you're not supposed to ignore the other members.

point proven lol. only a very small handful of people put in real effort around here. a lot of people have a cbf attitude. if you dont have the time or energy to invest here.. i suggest stepping aside and letting someone who does have a crack at it.

I mean you obviously do. In fact I applaud how committed you lot are at finding a constant stream of garbage to cycle through the league. Some of the crud clings on for a little longer but it all goes down the drain eventually.

I'm also super impressed with the Bombers recent season environmental initiative of recycling.

Fantastic signing’s for the OOB’s.

It’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of my very good friend Tigerturbulance and the OOB LG for not resting on their laurels and actually making a fist of this expansion venture. Culture doesn’t just happen. It doesn’t just magically appear out of nowhere in this very serious very real fake fantasy footy league on BigFooty.com.

Culture is built from the ground up, and I for one could not be happier they’ve added some talent to their ranks.

kananooks is a top campaignery and a really solid person, like the person behind the lasagna-eating fat cat persona is a legitimately good guy.

Braklet was one that I admired as soon as I returned from my sabbatical, particularly because they laughed at some of the dirtier stuff I posted. That in itself is cause for celebration - you can never have too many degenerates on this board.

Robertio is another top signing. He’s not going to wow the judges by any stretch, but he is a good role-player and will fill a glaring need in the OOB list, some more Carlton blood. Another person who behind the persona is one of impeccable character and will add plenty to the Old Boys list.

Ligma is also a great signing. A delight to post with and isn’t it just ironic that the Sweet FA’s resident Gilf hunter ends up at a club named the Old Boys!

Poetry in motion, that is.

Well done Turbo and well done to the OOB LG for being so accommodating.

Oh, and to the OOB that shall go unnamed, I will remain a Bomber from now until the end of days. Thank you for your consideration.

Much love,

Good timing mate, just ran out.

I started as a rookie with Baghdad this season, I guess I'm just another piece of garbage that is being cycled through the place. Maybe you people should read back over some of the things that you post. You talk of others being toxic and then come up with this sort of crap. If there's anything that will drive people away it's this type of nonsense.

Less obsession with what Baghdad does and more focus on and energy spent on building yourselves up would be much more beneficial to you. All I am seeing in things like what you are saying is bitterness. That is what is toxic in terms of stifling the growth of the league, not one team.

I'll add thanks Robertio for bringing me here in the first place, good luck to you with whatever you do from here.
